No. Team will try to get back to 10th or higher. An injury might be treated conservatively like last year if you want to call that a tank.

It's late in the 4th and Nwora is at the 4. I think he'll have a role next year.

I don’t see us passing Toronto. Could see us getting past Bulls and/or Wiz. That would be 10th.
The opportunity Nwora is seeing here is pretty sick. Could he join the club of Nesmith and Smith? Guys who got a look here and showed to be legit NBA players. Smith got run last night and showed well. Question, can we consolidate some of the value we’ve created in our young role players along with picks 26, 30 and 31?

I root for Purdue Against IU but, Hood-Shafino last night? Looked like a lottery talent to me.
Still like the NBA player TJD projects to be.

Shame on you!
Have you sought out professional help, or perhaps spoken to a minister about your affliction?

FWIW, I can only imagine how frustrating it would have been over the last ten years rooting for IU. Much easier to have no skin in that game.

We only had one really good team since they decided to screw Bobby Knight. That was the year that Oladipo, Zeller and Watford were there. Recruiting has been lacking. Maybe Woodson will relight the fire.

That said I'd love to have TJD and Eddy on the Pacers next season as either late #1 or 2nds.

Okay, but J H-S should be the better pro.

Can we all just cheer for Butler? I do back IU as my parents went there but the Bulldogs should be Indy's team.

Do you think JHS is gonna be in the draft?

I went to Butler when I was still in HS they had a special program for HS students, I was the only one in my school that did it, I had 15 credit hours when I graduated HS. And my HS girlfriend played on the Women's team and was a Academic All-American.

I chose to go to IU because of the cost of Butler and didn't want Mom and Dad to borrow money.

I didn't a month ago, but now I do. He could go in the lottery.

I think JHS will for sure be a lottery pick.
TJD’s game reminds me of Draymond Green.
If we wind up using three or four of our picks I see Edey as an interesting selection. I think his upside (has only been playing BB for 5 years) is under rated.
Much as I’d like to see a better Butler, I wonder if they are literally out of their league.

I think if we can't productively move a pick, we'll need to draft a foreign player or two and leave them unsigned.

agreed. moving up from the Horizon League was good but the second move to the Big East looks to have been a mistake competitively but it might be a financial winner.

I don't want to get into a big thing about it, but Knight did himself in, and had been headed that direction for a long time.

Anyway, my initial comment was all in fun.

That might be right, I had thought he would play 2 years but he's looking like Big Ten freshman of the year material. He won't be 20 until June 3rd. So depending how the Tournaments go, he has a chance to show case his ability. Then there is the combine.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the General, he is the only Indiana basketball coach(in the state) since Branch McCracken to win an NCAA title and he has 3 of them. He also won that 1974 Collegiate Commissioners Association Tournament when the "Big Dance" only took the conference champs. He also won the 1979 NIT.

He'd probably be retired now anyhow. But the way the School handled it soured me on watching or following college basketball. I have never felt the same about IU basketball and rarely watch anything but NBA. In recent years the league has turned me off quite a bit with it's PC/Globalist agenda to the point that I pretty much only watch the Pacers now. MMA has taken the place of basketball for me.

Probably retired? You really have been out of the loop for a while, haven't you? Yes, he retired some time back. He now suffers from a variety of ailments, including what appears to be some dementia. Not unusual, as he is a bit elderly now. He now lives back in Bloomington and has been to various IU games and practices. Give Mike Woodson credit for that, as they continued a friendship over the years. From what I have seen, he still maintains his temperament.

When I comment on him bringing it onto himself, I'm basing that on things I was told by various people within the athletic department, including the son of a former assistant coach, who I came to know as a friend. Believe me, everything did not make it to the media.

But as I said, I don't want this to become a big thing, and I did appreciate his coaching talents, so this is my last post about it.

I agree, he has grown his skills by leaps and bounds this year. I hate the thought of losing him after only one year, but what can you say? Even Isiah stayed for two years, so I guess there is some hope of him staying. Things are different now than in Zeke's time though.

I should not have used the word "probably" he certainly would not still be there. He left Texas Tech in 2008 I think.

I know all the incidents that BK had over the years some he just lost it, but there we're a lot of them where someone goaded him into what ever happened. He's a very big guy and had a bit of a temper especially when he felt like someone was intentionally messing with him.

But I'll say again 3 NCAA titles. No other Indiana College team has even one. Not Notre Damn, Purdue, Butler or any of them. And it's not like he sent 3 guys to the 1st round every year either.

I was there in 1987 when the Hoosiers won it all. I knew some of the guys on the team, they loved him and hated him at the same time. He's a legend in his own time, and until some other indiana coach takes a team to the finals and wins Bob Knight is still the #1 college basketball coach in this state.

It's a sign of the times, stay in college maybe learn some stuff or go get drafted in the top 10 and make several million a year. Not much of a choice.

Return to Indiana Pacers
