Indiana will face a much different team from the one they took on in October due to both injuries and a trade.

Among the players who have missed significant time this season for the Pistons is Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, who has been out since December and will not return to action after he had surgery to repair a left tibial stress fracture. Cunningham was averaging 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists before the injury.

We need to win both Detroit games to get into serious play-in contention.

Lots of players sitting on each team. We are up 69 to 57 at halftime but we're hardly dominating.

Good to get one even with Haliburton out.

Turner out too. Rare win without them. Now if Houston can hold off the Bulls.

Carlisle announces post game that same players will rest Monday.

I didn't watch tonight, but wow Jackson with a big game. Guys gotta pull some L's soon though, we're too close to the finish line to lose out on a impact player.

Even with resting guys in Detroit I think Pacers are gunning for the play in. I also think baring real injury to either Tyrese or Myles they get there because At full strength we are just that good. Won’t be shocked if we pass Bulls, Wizards and Raptors.

I highly suspected last year that ownership allowed the tank with the idea that it would help the team be competitive this year.

My understanding is that ownership was sold (last year) on the idea of a multiple year rebuild for sustainable success long-term.

It is hard to imagine ownership was ok with a multi
year re-build

Scoot. Do you have a reliable source that they were good with that?

Did you watch any of the 2022 press conferences? They were very clear they were rebuilding. They moved Brogdon, Holiday, McDermott, Craig, Lamb, and Warren.

But we're way ahead of where we were projected to be. Haliburton and Maturin have been great and Turner has benefited from being just a center. Hield has also surprised. Nembhard would be in the top ten if the draft were redone now. Nesmith and Nwora have contributed. Plus we have a ton of draft picks this year. That we're ahead of schedule doesn't mean we're done.

They okayed a rebuild but I don't think they did anything to try to lose other than be very conservative with injuries. They may be doing that now too but the players and coaches are playing to win. Is that a tank?

What does multi year rebuild mean to ownership?
With players held out is that a soft tank or do they really need to sit out? Hali and Myles.
Is the goal to get to playoffs no matter what?

if you mean to get to the playoffs this year no matter what, I think the clear answer is no. I'm confident that if tonight were a playoff game Haliburton, Turner, and McConnell would be off the injury report and Theis would get the minutes at backup center.

I had huge bet on the Pacers this is going to set me back a few months financially speaking. :(

Don't bet on us when Haliburton or Turner are out.

I've seen all I can take (second quarter). Maybe we'll play better when I'm not watching.
