Interesting that Duarte isn't listed although it isn't uncommon for third year players to stay home. but iJax is listed and as a F not a C.

Duarte who really needs to prove he’s healthy and that he’s worked on his game needed to be there. If nothing more than to show interested teams he’s a valuable asset in a trade.
Interesting that Gabe York(currently a 2 way), Jermaine Samuels(late season call up), and newly acquired Elfrid Payton(with NBA experience)are not being included.

he's apparently playing at home in the Dominican.

When did that happen? Maybe a better question is why did that happen?

his claim to fame in Indy was that he's was the kid that Slick asked if he was wearing a hat.

FEBRUARY 8, 2023 – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the NBA G League Affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, have acquired the player rights to Elfrid Payton.
Payton last played for the Phoenix Suns during the 2021-22 NBA season, where he appeared in 50 games.
Payton played for nine seasons in the NBA with stops in Orlando, Phoenix, New Orleans and New York after being drafted 10th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014 NBA Draft. He was traded by the 76ers before he made his NBA debut. He went on to average 8.9 points and 6.5 assists per game as a rookie in Orlando and was named All-Rookie First Team by the NBA. Over the course of his career, Payton averaged 10.1 points, 5.7 assists and four rebounds per game while playing 500 NBA games; 395 of which he was a starter.
Before turning pro, Payton was a two-time First Team All-Sun Belt player for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While with Louisiana, Payton averaged a career best 19.2 points per game during his junior season, adding 2.3 steals per game and being named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year. He was also honored with the Lefty Driesell Award as the National Defensive Player of the Year for college basketball. After leading the Ragin’ Cajuns to the NCAA Tournament, Payton declared for the NBA Draft, forgoing his senior season.
Payton will wear number 2 with the Mad Ants.
In a related move, the Mad Ants have waived guard Devontae Shuler.
In addition, the injury to forward Bennie Boatwright has been deemed season ending, clearing a roster spot for Payton.

and yet at season's end it was York not Payton that got a cup of coffee with the Pacers. I doubt he's in the picture for more than a G-League spot with us.

Mathurin shot looks different. He did something weird with his offhand before, looks like that's gone. I'm watching on my phone though. But he still looked the same otherwise. Head down drives without looking and drove himself into trouble repeatedly looking for the whistle to bail him out.

Jarace hands look disruptive. That fading jumper though I'm afraid is gonna be hard to fix.

They taught TJ to shoot 3s but Walker's offense needs work. KBrown looking good.

Walker doing a good job of getting to the boards on defense.

Walker put up stats just not points. Rebounds, steals, blocks all solid.

Just 1 game, but I hope next game we see more from Sheppard to see what he can do. Kendall Brown was playing aggressively as well as Walker. Mathurin, Nembhard, and Jackson were all productive.

I only saw the second half of the game, but here goes a couple thoughts.
Jackson and Walker each made some spiffy passes. They weren't playing against a great defense but having them recognize and take advantage of the opportunities was a good sign. They both showed good effort, but fouls are still a problem for Jackson.
I hear that Mathurin called the officials after breakfast this morning to complain once again about not getting more calls. OK, that's not really true, but you get the idea. I also heard that right after Mathurin's call to the refs, Jackson was spotted getting another rebound. That may actually be true.
