Great start tonight. At 6:30 left in first Mathurin, Nwora, and McConnell are first subs.

Raptors 68-65 at half. Siakam rebounding and scoring plus Schroeder breaking down the defense are doing as they please.

Buddy still warm 7-8 and 5-6 from 3.
4 of 5 Pacers starters in double figures.

The bench consisting of Nwora, Smith, Mathurin, and McConnell very little contribution so far. Bench 4 points on 2-12 shooting, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals.

Not sure why I Ajax no run unless he’s a designated down the stretch weapon.

Had a shot for the win, but if you play better defense it’s less likely that they get into a last second toss up situation. Those can sometimes result in a loss that should have been a win.

This style of offensive basketball being played early this season is exciting for the fans due to being in most games so far. However, the lack of defense gives the competition confidence that they can also score at will.

Unfortunately I fear this playing style will not work long term this season. I don’t think they will be able to overwhelm teams with offense to secure blowouts or easy wins.

Most teams in the league play defense well enough to hang in all game and it will be a nightly toss up situation instead of a situation of being in control of the closing minutes.

Again I really have to question on a night when they’re down 2 players why I Jax didn’t see the floor. Raptors out rebounded them 46-31with a definite height advantage. I think that they should have put in I Jax and Smith together to at least see if they could keep them off the boards.
