Only way to beat these guys is with second unit. Hard without TJ and Benn.

It feels like they are fighting hard, but Boston is just so good.

Celtics are smoking hot going 64% from 2 and 57% from 3. Pacers shooting a decent 46% from 2 and 35% from 3.

Only noticeable difference is defense by the Celtics and great percentages first half. All other areas of stats are similar.

Boston is such a mature team. Well oiled, and disciplined. Just a few small mistakes by us scattered here and there is enough to make beating them difficult. Games like this provide the sort of experience we need.
They also close out on our shooters very well. Just enough that a few shots are not taken. By comparison their shooters seem to have more space. The deep shooting disparity was the ball game.
We're not that far away however. We clearly are improving, I think they are peaking.
After so long "next year" feels like it expresses more genuine optimism than excuse.

Next year? I think we'll be better in March if everyone is healthy.

We're getting better almost by the day! I'm expecting an exciting playoff run with a puncher's chance to beat almost anybody. Yet I think we've got some rough edges and inexperience that will take until maybe the following March before I'll get my hopes up for say an ECF.
