So we helped a competitor...what does this do for the Pacers?

Well, good for him that he is going to a good team. I will miss him as a Pacer though.

If one of the 2nds is the Toronto 2nd this year, it’s fair. Buddy wasn’t returning this offseason and had a standing trade request all year. Korkmaz can shoot. Morris will be flipped or waived.

You got assets for an expiring contract guy that demanded a trade. You got a shooter who can fill some of the void. You got Morris who is also expiring and could be flipped or waived, so no future salary. You can resign Kork if you want and you also got 3 seconds which are standards trade currency as 2 seconds got you Toppin last offseason. Morris could also be depth if Toppin or Smith are dealt before the deadline today.

I don't think I've seen that as a definitive thing, or a quote from wither the Pacers or Buddy. What are you basing it on?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I've just never seen anything about it before.

The trade request was reported early in the year as part of the refusal to extend before the season started. He never retracted it. Neither Buddy nor the Pacers could legally answer questions regarding that as they’d be fined. It was commonly referenced in Indy media without being outweighed stated as it couldn’t be truly and legally “sourced”.

Also, Buddy wants to start now and in the future. He wasnt returning unless Indy traded both of Nembhard and Mathurin.

The Buddy Hield experience could be exciting and awesome and it could also be frustrating at times. That said, seemed like a great Pacer. Helped Ty get acclimated here. Had a fun attitude most of the time. Didn't love getting benched but still played hard.

Played way better here than his reputation that preceded him. Hopefully he likes playing next to Maxey.

Yup,.. If I go look at RealGM's future picks by team,... the only seconds Philly has (after the trade with Detroit),...

2024 - from Raptors
2029 - Own; LAC; POR
2030 - Own

So,... he can't be far off,... LOL =]

Edited:

From Spotrac: 2024 2nd round pick [TOR pick] , 2029 2nd round pick [LAC pick] and 2029 2nd round pick [POR pick]

I think we could keep Korkmaz as a Buddy replacement-lite. Morris strikes me as a guy we don’t want around the young guys? Especially if we re sign James Johnson.

I’m guessing we’re shopping Obi and trying to flip Morris before 3pm?

Yeah,... I'm thinkin the same things,... OB1 (to Dallas?.....Edit: not Dallas, they are completing a deal for Gafford from the Wizards according to hoopsrumors.) & shopping Morris. Korkmaz was one of the guys involved in that Turkey/ Georgia brawl in international ball this summer. The same incident that put Goga on the outside with the Pacers,... So, I'm not convinced we are even going to look to keep him?...

As long as Buddy's happy & we got the 2nd's out of it,.. I'm good. Happy with our younger guys growing up a bit. =]
