Pacers "players-only" camp in Nashville

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Mon May 20, 2024 4:00 am

Tyrese mentioned tonight the players had a players only training camp last summer in Nashville. I'm not sure if its my age creeping up and i can't remember right or i didn't hear about this til now but either way, very cool. Shows the maturity of this group at such a young age to sacrifice some summer time to spend time together, bonding and playing basketball. Impressive for the age of the core of this team.

I remember this happening. There were so many new players that they wanted to bond, work out, scrimmage, and get to know each other while enjoying Nasvhille.

The Indiana Pacers travelled to Nashville because originally Bruce Brown wanted to help Tyrese Haliburton appreciate country music. So, when Brown brought up the idea of bringing him, Haliburton turned it into a team event. Only TJ who’s child was just born and Theis didn’t attend.

Aaron Nesmith played at Vanderbilt so he arranged for them to use the facilities and gym plus showed them the good eating spots and sights. Sheppard was also from the Nashville area playing at Belmont in college.

This also was when they stuck Jarace Walker with a $9,000 food bill from a steakhouse that they ate at together as a group.

Ha! Welcome to the Pacers, Jarace! By the way, can you take care of this little item for us? Thanks.
