Nice article that didn’t block me with a paywall. Explains all about the first 6 prospects that came in to workout.

Thanks.

The two players i liked most from the first grouping was Kyle Rode and Blake Hinson.

Rode is an absolute sharpshooter with the basketball. High-basketball IQ, good playmaking skills. 44% FG in his college career. He made 39% on 8 three-point attempts per game. Essentially automatic from the free throw line.

Hinson is an elite shooter of the basketball and an elite scorer. He surpassed 1,000 points in Pitt. Only Pitt player in history to accomplish this in two seasons. 44% shooter in his career at Pitt.

I've been out of touch lately how are the Jazz picking at 29 and not the raptors?

I’ll answer this halfway. I found this tidbit.

29. Utah (from Oklahoma City via Toronto and Indiana)

I’ll let someone else explain the transaction details since I’m old and can’t remember.

From Tankathon : the 29th pick is conveyed to UTA because, UTA gets worst of OKC/LAC/HOU/UTA'

From Spotrac: Feb 08, 2024 - Kira Lewis Jr. (PG), Traded to Utah (UTA) from Toronto (TOR) with Otto Porter Jr. and 2024 1st round pick [least favorable of OKC/LAC/HOU/UTA ] for Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji

I'd take Shead over yet another SG.

Just going by his stats, I don't think many are going to call him a shooter. He does seem (again, just using stats) to tally a good number of boards at his size, and a good number of assists.

I know nothing about his defense.

Dillon Jones SF | Weber State 6'5.75" (6'4.5" barefoot) 237 lbs Senior 22.6 yrs 20.2 PTS 9.6 REB 5.1 AST 0.1 BLK 1.9 STL

6'11.5" wingspan, not very vertically explosive, but really, really quick, good footwork, good speed. Not overly long,... 8'4.5", but the standing reach numbers from this year are really sketchy. For me,... He's kind of a cross between Talen Horton-Tucker & a Charles Barkley light? He's got better forward & post skills than THT, and better passing, ball handling than Barkley. Defense is good, '+ level", but not exceptional. Though he has the athleticism & strength to really excel at some point. He's got a good reputation for being 'intense', doesn't take plays off, good work ethic.

His shot is ok, but he doesn't really have college 3 point range yet (.324 last year). But he is an 80% foul shooter, so there's hope that it's just needing to extend his range? He is a really good passer for a wing, but does need to cut down the TO's a little.

IMO, his comparisons are very 'on the money' for his game,... well rounded 'Glue' wing that is very versatile, a better than average at nearly everything guy for the deeper part of your rotation that could grow into more with time & experience

Anybody have any potential second round draftees that have caught their attention?....

I'm starting to really like Jonathan Mogbo, as well as Chomche.

Mogbo is neat, but I worry he’s essentially the next coming of Alize Johnson?

Chomche is from Cameroon so Siakam might have an opinion.

I can see Shead as an emergency 1.
