Re: Center depth.
James Johnson and Enrique Freeman are also considered depth at the 5. I won’t be surprised if we sign a bigger guy to fill the 15th spot for now.

Yes we need to sign some weight and height. I dont trust the size of freeman or Johnson or the skills.

Re: Center depth.
I think Freeman is a bit like Terry Taylor - a mid-major college center who would have been a 4 or even a 3 at a power program.

Re: Center depth.
Free agent centers list I saw leaves me thinking the Pacers run with I Jax and Freeman for as long as possible. I’m not sure if the Mad Ants have a NBA capable center. Okafor probably not ready idk ?

DeMarcus Cousins is a former All-Star with a wide body and still has some left in the tank. To bang against Embiid and KAT. He'll also give us that edge like what Lance used to bring. Let's Boogie!

For NBA vet minimum I'd give him shot.

Re: Center depth.
Sign Thad. He doesn't have the size but basically is a center at this stage in his career. Honestly probably would not be a bad guy for Walker to learn from either.

Thad could play with Obi.

I'd be against this. Thad is history as a player. There is no need to step back into the past. What would be next? Sign Vern Fleming?

That’s a bit of exaggeration.
But in reality, there’s just not really better options out there. Cousins may not have an nba out, and he hasn’t been able to run and jump in years now, due to his knee injuries. Maybe we could get a Cody Zeller, if atlanta is willing to buy him out (and he’s willing to give up his vet minimum in buyout there, and take a vet minimum here)?

Re: Center depth.
I think Turner/Jackson/Obi/Freeman is solid enough for the moment unless a major injury happens.

James Johnson would essentially count here as a 5th center, too.

I think we have Okafor from Duke on the mad ants.

we do, but he's not on a two-way so we'd have to offer him a veteran's minimum contract and he'd have to accept it.

And we don’t really have him, per se. He’s contracted to the GLeague and assigned to the Ants, but he’s an nba free agent and could sign anywhere at any time. If he was nba caliber, that is, which he’s not.

Re: Center depth.
Well, I would be prepared to see Jackson diagnosed with a torn Achilles, too. Definitely gonna need a FA center signing, and then likely still a James Wiseman trade when he’s eligible to be traded 12/15. Maybe Portland would take Wiseman, cash, and a 2nd for Duop Reath? They’re likely still stuck with RW3 and Ayton, and also obviously have Clingan, and they’re all true 5’s….

I'd like to see somebody like a Mo Bamba? (He's on a minimum somewhere?....) He can at least run,... won't slow us down. He does rebound,.. and he can shoot the 3 consistently,.... now,.. whether he does those things in the flow of the offense,... or knows where to be & how to cover on defense,.... the magic 8-ball says,... 'Highly unlikely',... If he did all those things effectively within the flow of the team game,... he wouldn't be 'on a minimum somewhere?'.... but at least he kinda fits what we need?....
I might have said Robert Williams III, as a stop-gap with some potential. Should already be on the trade list for Portland,.. but well,.. he's out injured,... that sounds familiar,... =/

Yeah. A trade for a cheap guy makes a ton of sense, and it should be someone that can run the floor, but that’s also adds difficulty. For the most part, anyone that signed somewhere this summer can’t be traded until 12/15, or 1/10 in some cases.
As for RW3, yeah, he could be a VERY ATTAINABLE contract, and yeah, his health is a major question. Would likely require a trade of Obi for him in terms of cap matching, though?

Re: Center depth.
The last time I looked we were 30th in rebounding. I hope Jackson isnt hurt bad or its going to get worse.
