This is certainly going to be a different class of opponent than the Pacers played in the first round.

Like the first round I’ll go Pacers in 7 and hope that they surprise me again playing to their potential.

Expected Shep on Jerome and Bryant to play but good start.

Nice to be ahead 6 at the half. Cavs haven’t hit their 3 point attempts. Pacer’s shooting 60% from both overall and 3. Pacers won the first quarter and the Cavs took the second.
Pretty even game so far. As long as the Cavs don’t play defense I believe the Pacers can stay in contention. Pacers have to stop penetration by their quick guards and force the Cavs into bad shots.

Great job of stealing home court advantage in game 1. Garland being out I’m sure hurts them but their 3 point shooting by Strus and Mitchell going 3-19 really hurt them. Rebounds were even. Blocks 9-1 in the Pacers favor

Pacers have to clean up their 16 turnovers compared to the Cavs 7.
Watching the Cavs defend the Pacers tonight it looked like much less pressure than the Bucks applied. Tyrese was able to shoot open 3’s, drive for buckets, and also pull up for shots in the paint. The offense flowed well with us finding the open shot for 3 much of the game. Everyone was able to get involved. The bench is still a question mark in my mind for this series. Obi, TJ, and Benn seemed to be somewhat successful. I hope Shep, Walk, and Thomas get more opportunity and contribute. I was really surprised that Bryant wasn’t in more to defend the rim and Cavs bigs.

In game 1, Ty Jerome and Sam Merrill just were not able to provide the defensive pressure that Milwaukee was able to get on the guards with AJ Green and even Gary Trent. Obviously, Jerome and Merrill are there more for their shooting than anything else, but it was a stark contrast.
Being short Garland is just so huge a difference for Cleveland. Lacking that key piece made it harder for the rest of the guards and wings to “fly all over” the place, and Indy was just able to keep creating open shots all over, as the healthy players were just trying to save any energy they could.

Pressure is on for Garland to play in game two. It will be interesting to see how they manage his minutes and how he looks out there.

Absolutely. Very fun to watch when they are putting defensive effort. The turnaround this team has made defensively between last season and now is remarkable. Still got a ways to go but very promising.

Good news bad news. Good news is the Pacers are being blamed for being physical in game 1 and causing 2 injuries to the Cavs. Bad news is now the media and the fan communities across the league will be saying once again the Pacers win against injured teams. Boo F-ing hoo. I’m glad people are starting to see that the Pacers are for real.

If the team keeps playing like this, poor Tyrese's Dad won't be welcome back.
