Pacers ready to turn to "small lineup"?

Interesting. Although we'll have to see if they really mean it, or if it was just an aberration given that we were matching up against the Suns, a team with unusual personnel.
I know I'd like to see Williams get as much PT as possible...this year's team isn't contending for anything more than a first-round playoff loss anyway, and who on our team has more potential than Williams? Mayyybe Granger, and that's it.
OTOH, I hate to see Williams's minutes come at Diogu's expense. I'm not sold that Diogu is all that good, or that he fits in very well on our team, but even so I like his potential well enough that I'd like to see him get ample opportunity to show what he can do.

OTOH means on the other hand am I correct? I would love to see this lineup but it will probably never happen unless Tinsley gets suspended or something.
Diener
Rush
Dunleavy
Williams
O'Neal
Granger has been nothing but disappointing when it comes to consistency this season and I think he needs to be sixth man for a while, I also think it would help our bench scoring wise.

Like Mizzzou, I too would like to see Williams & Ike play more.
I really think we need to decide if there is a home long term for the threesome of Granger/ Willians/ Diogu. If they can not all 3 fit on the floor, we should look into possibly moving one, unless we see one as a versitile 6th man (I do not at this point!). With Dunleavy playing well, the room for both Danny & Shawne does not seem to be there.
I hate to even suggest it, but w/ JO's value so low, we may need to add one of them to get a good inpact-type package (w/ a top-tier young player) in return.

Substitute Tinsley for Diener (I'm not completely disgusted with Tinsley quite yet) and that's a starting lineup I'd like to see too. I'd like to see Rush start, not because I'm partial to Missouri alums (although I am!) but because he is the one guy on the team who is a prototype two guard, plus he's looked like our best perimeter defender for much of the season so far.
I go back and forth with Williams and Granger. One can start, the other can be sixth man, I'm just not sure which one I prefer for which role.
Also, even if he doesn't start, make sure Foster gets plenty of minutes. We need what he brings.

I'd rather have Owens than Diener start, and I'd much rather have Tinsley over ANY point guard we have.
Rest in Peace, Pacerfan
Will eat crow if Brandon Rush turns out good.

Is he the type of guy that needs to play next to a playmaker so he can shoot (like he did back at Marquette), or does he need to just come off the bench for about 10 minutes a night in 3 or 4 minute runs to just shoot 3's.
I wasn't able to watch the Suns game. Apparently he did fairly well at pushing up the ball. Who was he on the court with?
Marquis?

Why should we have to chose between either Danny or Shawne. Here's an idea: Play both. JO, Shawne, Danny, Mike, Jamaal... We have enough defense, rebounding, shooting, and spacing for JO and Jamaal to work the middle (not the arc, Tinsley).
I like Kareem, but I like him off the bench better. He just has a 6th man feel and his chucking suits a bench role.

I'd be OK with starting Williams, Granger, and Dunleavy...if one of them could guard guys on the perimeter better. The perimeter defense from those three has not been especially good.
I like Rush in the starting five because he's played better defense. Plus he's a legit scoring threat as well.

I really do enjoy Rush's defense as well. I'm not sure if I'd start JO, but I'm not sure not starting him is an option.
Rest in Peace, Pacerfan

Good point, mizzou... If we don't trade JO, then I'd actually support Danny as 6th Man. I know it would be a "demotion", but it would basically give Danny free reign to do what we wanted. He could work on his 1on1, post moves, everything.
I guess that would make the new SL JO, Shawne, Mike, Kareem, and Tinsley. I have noticed Rush's D out there... but he misses so many shots that he should hit, IMO. Wide open 3s, some layups, and even some of those ill-advised step-back fadeaways. Still, I could get behind Kareem as a starter.

I like this small-ball. Kareem started tonight and got a lot of run, I like what I see.

What you know and what I know are quite different. And I don't think Beno Udrih is one of the better PG defenders in the league, either. But thats just me.
