Not a huge surprise by some of the partying stories we've heard about him. Still, duh...duh...duh....another one bites the dust....

So that's why he always fouls out. He's hopped up!

:nonono:
what else?
like the rest: disappointed, but not really surprised.

the other thing that sucks about this:
this kill any trade value (not that it was too high anyway). he has good size & has shown some skills, & w/ his expiring deal, I'm sure someone would have inquired (esp. in part of a package deal). not so sure now...

Think Minny fans would still do that Harrison-G.Green deal?
They have several expiring contracts, maybe they want David's too!

(David lost himslf a lot of money t/y - esp. in just the last few hrs!)

He's a little crazy, but I didn't expect something like that from him, so I'm surprised, I've never heard anything about Harrison use drugs.

His contract expire this season, so this suspension is terrible for his carrer in the NBA.

It's sad because he was playing very well in the first games, so he got injured, and returned like the old Harrison, of the other seasons.

I just can't believe how stupid some people are. According to HoopsHype, Harrison is making $1,334,039 this year. That's about $16,269 a game. So 5 games would cost him over $81,000. Not sure if that's exactly how they do it, but take away the $2,001,059 qualifying offer he definitely wont be receiving this offseason and you can see that's a whole lot of money he just smoked away.

And I have absolutely nothing against pot, assuming that was his drug of choice. You just have to use a little common sense. I've had jobs that drug test and ones that don't. The ones that do, you don't do drugs. The ones that don't, you can. It's pretty simple. Like I've mentioned before, at my current job I'm the one that "randomly" selects who gets tested. Let's just say I'm pretty confident my name wont get chosen.

When I was 18 I was smart enough to quit smoking pot in case the crappy minimum wage job I was applying for wanted to drug test me. Harrison, on the other hand, is so stupid that he's willing to smoke pot while employed by someone who he knows is going to test him. And as stated in the first paragraph, he has a lot more at stake than minimum wage.

I have never liked the guy and cannot wait till I do not have to see his fat ass complaining about silly fouls he was clearly guilty of.

My insider information comes true 2+ years later, ha. I saw him at least a half dozen times in Broadripple high as a kite. We've all heard the Colorado stories too... wasn't there a website solely comprised of Harrison drinking/smoking stories we had on here? I for one am not shocked at all, but maybe this is a wakeup call for him. What's sad is with all the Pacers have been through this barely even causes a stir compared to the rest of it.

David... why???

What's even more disappointing is that this is the only way the Pacers have made any significant headlines on SportsCenter... Where have you gone, Reggie Miller??

I guess the board consensus is that it was pot then...I agree.

From what I heard from one of the Pacers writers on JMV's show yesterday (I think it was Monteith), based on the rules & punishments appliable, this is a second positive pot offense. No other "drug" fits.
If it were a harder drug, or a performance enhancing drug, the punishment would be harder then 5 games. There are no suspentions (nor team nitifications) for a first offense.

That's exactly what I figured, and wrote out last night, that if it had been a tougher drug the suspension would have been longer.

According to the Star's article, a league suspension actually is "strike three"...you don't get suspended until you fail the drug test for the third time. Here's the link:

David Harrison, what a dumbass

Next year he will be playing for Kuala Lumpur.
