New York Daily News -
According to Jermaine O'Neal, the Pacers are in trade talks with several teams and it is well-known that Isiah Thomas has tried on several occasions to acquire O'Neal, whom he coached for three seasons in Indiana.

Thomas might try to move Zach Randolph, who last month was the subject of trade talks involving Milwaukee.

"The deal makes a lot of sense to me," one Knicks player said on Wednesday.

"I think in this business you got to be willing to believe at some point, if your team struggles you are going to be traded," O'Neal said Wednesday night. "I would accept it."

No way Zach is coming here. The press is far to sensitive for any Pacer to be involved in an off the court incident and Zach is due for one.

With JO making 20M and the team doing nothing, he is definitely on the block. This article is just speculation though.

I think it's a little bit more then speculation since Jermaine O'Neal himself said we're talking to multiple teams. I don't think he'd be dumb enough to make that up and i think we'd be dumb not to tell O'Neal every single detail about trying to move him.

I really wonder what team it could be that deals for him. Unless the Knicks offer up 2 first round picks which they won't i really don't see us dealing with them. I agree with Charcoal that Zach Randoph would be a bad idea and other then that they don't have much else to offer. And i don't like Renaldo Balkman much.

I really like hearing that JO's trade value is still good. Honestly, it should be. He is still a game changer. Not many players are.

Hopefully Bird makes a move that will be great for our team, and if there isn't one, I'd love to have a healthy JO here in Indy next year.

Knicks are on a roll, 7 losses in a row. If they mix things up and jermaine plays good then they won't get a top 5 pick in this deep draft, and they desperately need a franchise player.

No Randolph. We would have to get David Lee, and a pick, and how long is Randolph's deal?

Time to go to the trade checker to see how worried i am about this.

I don't really want David Lee. He's a good hustle player and that's it.

If we somehow can get Randoph and Balkman with a 1st round pick, that may be a solid start. I don't like Balkman but he is a rebounding machine and has alot of potential of being a great player on the boards. Randoph isn't a great scorer. He seems like a player to get in alot of off-court problems, does anyone know if he's staying out of trouble? That would be my main concern. Randoph has the skill for sure, he's a decent scorer, solid defender and one of the best rebounders in the NBA.

The first round pick is key.

Randoph can't play C right? He struggled alot and thus is why they play Eddy Curry, is that correct? That means, either Dunleavy or Granger would go to the bench... if we get 2 first round picks i don't forsee us not drafting 2 guards.

That was my first reaction as well, but i mean, to return back to the state of Indiana, i think he may come with a little bit more heart and desire then the Knicks have seen. Just a thought.

He's just like a big Jamaal Tinsley.

He is just a cancer. Wants his shots, complains when he doesn't get them. It would be a mistake trading for him. I think Bird and Walsh know that though.

Randolph is one of the last players I'd want to bring...after this one, he's got three more years and $48 mil left on his contract, he has a history of off-court problems, including a criminal record, and, though he's a marvelous scorer, there's every indication he's not a great (or even OK) teammate.

I'd rather take the JO for Marbury one-for-one deal, because Randolph would just be another nail in the coffin here...particularly since the 1st rounder would almost certainly be protected to the gills (I mean, Isiah may be an idiot, but he's not a complete idiot.)

I do like Lee because he's a hustle player with some decent skills. Balkman seems to fit the "hustle player and that's it" description better, as he strikes me as a homeless man's Jerome Williams.

I don't really see anything coming of these particular rumors, and I think this is indicative of the decline in JO's value, when you're talking about the dregs of the Knicks.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Plus, it's almost never good to bring somebody with a history of off-court problems close to home because generally that brings them closer to the people and influences that led to them having the off-court problems in the first place.

I hope that NY is crazy enough to deal their first, because there isn't a single player who makes more than 4M that I would want without it.

I think we're all in agreement that a first without protection would have to be included ala Curry to the Bulls.
