Trading for VC is a BIGGGGGGG mistake. But I wouldn't be surprised if TPTB were considering this.

Unfortunately...I don't think that Sean Williams is available.... which would be a deal breaker for me.

I agree CableKC...I want Williams.

vince serves two purposes, he gives us a legit sg and puts fans in seats due to his awesome dunks.

although he has four years left, i dont mind paying vince if he entertains me with dunks cuz now JO is stealing money and not doing anything to warrant me reknewing my nba league pass

He doesn't have the insane dunks anymore. I think he just play when he wants to. I don't know if I'm IND I do this trade. It's not as though you are giving up our whole team either.

I'm also not sure that paying someone that much over four years is worth it for his "dunking" ability.

I was in favor of this, but anymore I think this will just be delaying the rebuilding process. I hate this move. Does anyone think Vince is a franchise, cornerstone type player? If he answer is no then lets rebuild.

i wont mind if this deal happens if we get a young player with good potential. id love love love to get sean williams, but i doubt hes available unless its in a package for an elite player (which unfortunately oneal isnt right now), but i wouldnt be upset if we got marcus williams. boone wouldnt be bad either

What about JO/Williams for Carter/Magloire/Williams? Personally, I think Shawne has more upside than Sean, but Sean fills a need.

Honestly guys, the way it sounds, is that the "additional piece" that would be involved would simply be a salary filler such as Jamaal Magloire. We might get an Antoine Wright out of the deal.

I highly doubt New Jersey would include either Williams or Josh Boone in a deal like this.

a lot of people think that by trading jo and accuring vince , vince would become our franchise player,

no not at all

our franchise needs to be built around granger and shanwe williams, and a first rd pick.

I am for the Trade. JO hasn't been much for us this year in the running style. Vince would be.

The only question is, would you rather tank and get a PG or not. It's debatable.

Sean Williams is good but the kid got in trouble as a kid, got in trouble at Boston College and looks like a thug. Sorry but i don't think he's the type of player we need or Larry Bird would be looking at getting.

I wouldn't mind Carter to be honest. But Marcus Williams and a 1st round pick need to come with it.

^^ It is highly unlikely Marcus is available anymore. Thorn has openly been shopping Kidd, which leads me to believe they're ready to roll with Marcus.

Oh yeah, like Sean, Marcus got into a fair amount of trouble in college too.

Also, I'd like to broaden this deal to get Nenad if possible.

Echoing others, if Sean wasn't included I wouldn't even consider it.

I like it. We get Vince and some youth/picks. Then we can trade Vince next year to a desperate contender for some more youth/picks.

Here-Here!
Like Scoot said, I doubt either SW2 or Boone ore available, nor likely is MW. If all 3 are off limits, I pass.
JO for 2 yrs vs VC for 4....... Hate to say it, but I choose JO.

I didn't know Marcus got in trouble in college. Didn't think that was possible under Jim Calhoun. lol

If they get Jermaine O'Neal i thought they would stop trying to deal Kidd and would go at the playoffs with their new "big 3"?

I'd probably do it. We deal from a position of strength (forward) for a position of weakness (backcourt). The attendance is down and not a lot of people are genuinely excited about Pacers' basketball anymore. VC is not a franchise player, but he is an exciting player, and would be the best SG we've had since #31. The backcourt of this team has been below average for quite some time, and it's time we address the issue. Get a PG early (Bayless, Augustin?)..and go small-ball next season with a lineup somewhere along the likes of Rookie-VC-Dunleavy-Granger-Foster
