Sure, we're 21-31. But we've won 2 of 3 and I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the way we are playing lately. Am I wrong?

Ike refuses to give up

Why doesn't Diogu get more minutes? No one can seriously tell me David Harrison is a better option and keep a straight face.

Ike's a beast! Maybe we're showcasing Hulk to teams in need of size???

Ehh, Harrison and Diogu both suck.

Come on now, Diogu scored all his points in garbage time against a bunch of scrubs.

Let's see him do something, anything, worthwhile against legit competition. He's been in the league for nearly three years now, and he's nearly 25 years old.

About all he seems to be good for is scoring some points against inferior competition.

He can't control who he gets playing time against. Jason Maxiell and Amir Johnson aren't exactly pushovers either. I mean what's he supposed to do, "Hey coach, I only want to play against the starters"? Almost every chance he gets playing time, he produces pretty well. That's all he can do right now. Considering he was supposed to be the gem of the Golden State trade, and he doesn't even get the opportunity to play has to raise a lot of eyebrows.

I have seen nothing to convince me that Ike Diogu sucks. A bit unpolished? Yes. A bit confused in our new systems? Maybe. But suck? I'm not seeing it. There is a lot of talent there. Let's hope that meets opportunity.

He doesn't play more because he doesn't deserve to. His defense is awful, his basketball IQ is awful, and he only seems to be able to score effectively in particular matchups.

Even with JO out for an extended period of time, he can't get on the floor.

He's an undersized power forward with painfully limited game, who has done next to nothing for two different teams now that had every incentive to see him succeed...the Warriors spent a top-ten lottery pick on him, and the Pacers touted him as perhaps the main justification behind a rather controversial trade.

And he's not that young any more either, at least not by NBA standards.

I call "Bust."

I disagree with some of you guys saying Ike is a bust. Comeon, it isn't like Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are playing in front of this guy, give him some minutes. Hulk gets in there and just hacks away, what exactly is that good for? I am not saying Ike is a franchise player or anything close to that. What I am saying is that with big men such as Troy Murphy, Jeff Foster and David Harrison Ike deserves at least a look in significant minutes. When given a chance, such as the beginning of the year, he produced fairly well. I can't figure out for the life of me why O'Brien loves Harrison as much as he does and hates Ike.

But don't you think that it is kinda telling that Diogu is not stuck behind a Garnett, a Duncan, or even a JO at the moment, yet he still can't get on the court?

Maybe Jim O'Brien is a complete idiot. But I think I'm going to go instead with the Occam's Razor principle that the simplest theory is usually the most likely one: Diogu rides the pine behind Foster and Murphy because he is not as good as they are (and he is not significantly better than Harrison either).

However, while I think that Diogu is probably just not very good, I would not be averse to seeing him get some playing time and a chance to prove me wrong. I agree that there doesn't seem to be much to lose this season by playing Diogu a bit more and Murphy et al. a bit less. We're a 50-loss team any way you want to slice it.

The weird part about his basketball iq is that when I've heard him interviewed, he comes across as a thoughtful young man. Just goes to show there are different kinds of smarts.
