Thank you! Someone else heard it. What a strange deal that would be. I like Pietrus, but he seems redundant here with Granger, Williams, and Dunleavy currently manning the wing positions, although I think his value lies in his expiring contract (small expiring contract).

Don't like it for us.

Yeah, I heard it as well. But they only mentioned it for about 10 seconds or less. Hope there is no truth to it, unless they want to use the trade exception to get Murphy back!

it would have to break up into separate deals since the 10mill TE cant be traded with a player

Damn Harrington must be sad with that deal.....
Start in Ind, go to ATL, go to IND, go to GS, go to IND, go to.........?

Like I said on the other thread, this trade makes no sense for the Warriors. They have a team built around speed and getting up and down the court, and they are going to attempt this while playing JO and CWebb major minutes? I don't see the philosophy in that.
O'Bryant does kind of remind me to how we got JO though. A little known big man that is very young. If this trade happens I can only hope he produces well to justify the Warrior trade last year.
With the Warriors playing philosophy I am not sure how an often injured O'Neal, who makes 45 million over the next two years really fits.

This is beyond crazy. I don't know, i'm not sold on Harrington, but i mean i loved him before. I didn't like the idea of dealing a first round pick for him but seeing him in Golden State makes me miss him. I LOVE Pietrus' game, i think he's a great player with loads of potential. However, i don't like Patrick OBryant. If Bird grabs a 1st round pick from GS, i'd sign off on it, but as of right now, i'd pass.

Third times the charm? I love Harrington, he would fit our new system perfectly. However I feel we would be better off keeping JO. I guarantee ya'll he will be at All-Star level next year. I think we'll be good next year with healthy JO, improved Granger, young prospect from draft, and Williams with a bigger role in rotation.

What exactly don't you like about Patrick O'Bryant? He never really plays and he is very young. If nothing else I could see some potential.
With Al we will get a known commidity in a guy who is a streaky shooter and someone who doesn't play defense or rebound as well as he should. That said he is a fan favorite.
Pietrus has no place in Golden State and is frustrated. To me he is very similar to Marquis Daniels in that he can get to the rim, but lacks a great jumper. I am not sure I would be thrilled with getting him.
Does this move significantly cut salary? If so I am for it. If not I am against it.

Granted, i havn't seen him much. But from what i did see and what i've read, is he's a stiff. I hope i'm wrong, but i don't know.
I'd really like this move if we deal Ike Diogu and/or something else for Kyle Lowry. If we get Pietrus, we can forget Mike Miller, but i'd settle for a small deal with us getting Lowry in return.

It's got to, they needed the 10 mil exception to make it work.

If a deal is being discussed, it's going to be about using the the Warriors trade exception to bring Mike Miller to the the Pacers. So it would be something like this...
Harrington/Pietrus/O' Bryant/Miller ($10M TE)
for
O' Neal

I like that deal...Harrington fills the PF spot in this system a lot better than JO does.

You can't combine the Trade Exception with anything else, so these deals as constructed can't be completed.
We should all remember this from the Al Harrington saga in the summer of '06.

i absolutly hate the deal. No more al in indy.
Start over. This deal gives us nothing beside POB, and this guy has proven nothing,.

I think its fairly obvious why the Warriors would make this deal. Besides unloading all their underachievers/stiffs/malcontents, JO is a low post defender/rebounder that they desperately need to deal with all the size in the West.

Maybe move Al to Chi, who has benn rumored w/ him in the past & here again recently. (Al/Peitrus for Gordon or Hinrich?) Add in POB & _?_ & get T.Thomas....

Why wouldn't we just make it a 3-way trade for one, and why would we want Thomas for O'Bryant?
