NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Quick Hits:
Team president Larry Bird will continue to work the phones up to the deadline as he tries to fix a team that could be on its way to missing the playoffs for the second straight season. Bird is having a difficult time pulling off a trade because the two players the Pacers wouldn't mind moving -- Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley -- are both injured..........Still, Pacers forward Ike Diogu continues to be planted deep on the bench, and O'Brien has no intention of giving him significant minutes until he gets a better grasp of the offensive and defensive system. "Like everybody has to, he has to earn minutes," O'Brien said........Center David Harrison joined Tinsley and O'Neal in street clothes Wednesday with a right ankle injury. The Pacers don't have a timetable for Harrison's return.

Hope this is coach-speak & not GM-speak.
We should be pressing like no other to move Murph & Tins (yeah, I know...), as w/ Tins gone & Murph's $ gone, I am content to let JO ride out the season if need be, & go w/ him n/y (if he stays committed to us).

I edited the thread title to include the source in the title. Just FYI - Scoot

We need Jamaal a little more, because we don't have young guys at the position to fill in even close to what he does in this offense.

And Pat Riley said he wasn't trading Shaq. Coaches, GMs, Presidents, Owners, etc...they're all full of it.

Edit: With that said, I doubt they do anything. At least anything that actually improves the outlook of the team. I think their plan is to hold on to Jermaine until we can't even get someone from the D-League with him.

The Pacers just aren't in a position to make an in-season trade.

With JO and Tinsley hurt, we don't have anyone who could help a contending team down the stretch. At least, not anyone we'd be willing to part with.

And we can't help out-of-contention teams either, because we are in no position to help other teams dump salary.

So there you have it.

Yes they are, but they are in a much different position then we are. What's JOB supposed to say? "Yes, we really need to make a trade for a PG".... then something falls though and he totally lost confidence of Tinsley and Diener.... coach always needs to speak to make his current roster happy.

we're not really in a position to make off-season trades either.

i fully expect nothing to happen for the pacers. maybe some action for the cavs and raptors though.

That would explain his comments about Ike in the same article, then.

One thing I will say. If we do nothing, at least Bird didnt gave in to the public mass and take another bad trade on .

You could very well be right. I'm still hopeful, though, that someone might want JO or Tinsley if they can ever get healthy and stay there. Although maybe hoping for them to get healthy is like hoping to turn on the kitchen sink tomorrow and get beer instead of tap water.
