Update:
Monteith: Some questions on what Shawne actually did, vs. what is just he is getting associated with. Agrees things are bad, but points to all recent events are players being "in association" of problems & not being the ones who are being arrested or "causing" the issues (esp. of late). This is the point he thinks people should remember, while agreeing we still should not be happy w/ what has been going on.
Walsh: Acknowledged the pure frusteration of himself, Larry & the Simons are feeling. He said they are allowing the facts to come out & will continue to assist players in making the right choices, "BUT if the players are directly responsible & in knowledge of events that put them in a bad situation, then they will be dealt with" (cut, traded). Donnie said Mel Simon will personally be addressing Indy fans next week to express his disappointment & concerns over the image of the franchise of late, & will share his plan to improve things. Donnie said several times that "this is not what he signed up for" as he is a basketball man, not a off-court PR officer. He sounded almost trapped. He is confused how this franchise could go 20 yrs w/o these type of issues, & of late we can't stay out of our own way.
