More proof that we get very little credit or respect

Post#1 » by Miller4ever » Sat Mar 1, 2008 8:00 pm

ESPN's NBA page http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index

It's said here that we "pounded the gimpy RAPTORS". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but a Jermaine-less, Jamaal-less, Granger-less, Shawne-less franchise is gimpier than a Bosh-less second half.

Furthermore, the ESPN news clip that they show has whoever is doing the broadcasting saying that a reason the Raptors lost is because of them missing Bosh. This is not a problem, but thanks for not mentioning our plethora of problems.

I'm being extremely picky right now, because it was all inadvertent, but very telling of everyone's attitude towards us.

Indiana who?

Yeah...we've been here before. At least they didn't list the litany of "incidents". We're a bad team, and will be treated as such. One good win isn't going to change any perceptions.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

We aren't a bad team, we are an injured team with a bad coach.

We're a below average team that has lost a lot of respect because of our performance both on and off the court. If we want respect, we are going to have to earn it again. It starts with playing better basketball, but it's also being able to function in society without causing problems/distractions.

Shocking. The Pacers are a bad team, everyone knows that. But that still doesn't make it ok for writers to make tacky headlines like the one above. If either team would be considered "depleted" last night it would have been the blue and gold.

I have to agree w/ joew, here. I know we're gonna have to earn everything back, but like Carlisle said a few years back after one of our playoff opponents had lost a player, we're not feeling for anybody and don't wanna hear any complaints. What we've been thru for the last 4 years is something from which a few franchises may never recover, at least not until relocation. We've been down this road for a long time, but that doesn't excuse the lack of respect...
