LOL... good stuff, joew! I think that we're finally starting to get it. Everybody seems to know exactly what their role is, and they're performing it to a T. Danger & Dunleavy know that they have to be the primaries, and Rush knows he has to let fly and space the floor. Troy knows he has to hit the J or fake-n-go to be effective. Diener has to be our bargain-bin Nash and pick & choose when to pass and when to score, all while pushing the tempo at all times.
As a team, at last, we're doing what Harter says on D for the most part, rebounding pretty well, and getting out on the break off of long rebounds and deflections. We also know that we have to outscore teams to win, and we've finally started to drive and get trips to the line. We've found that happy medium between chucking 3s all the time and using that 3 to get penetration for FTs or kickouts.
It's really beautiful to watch when we play our game. It's also painful b/c I'd love to see how JO would do in the offense. He could mimic Troy on O and Jeff on D, only adding shotblocking and passing (when he wants to). That 3-man rotation would be sick! And not to insult JT, but if he were our backup PG, posting up while Kareem, Troy, and Shawne spread the floor, our 2nd team would be much better offensively.
I know Obie didn't want to throw Flip to the wolves, but I wanted to see him come in for Travis, b/c the faster he learns, the more consistent I think our bench play will become, and if that happens... well..
Playoffs? Playoffs? We're talkin about playoffs?!?
