Donnie Walsh, Larry Bird and the Simon Brothers are holding a Press Conference this afternoon...

Big news seems to be on the horizon.

Link - IndyStar.com: Herb Simon to be at Pacer announcement

Expect the article that is linked to be updated several times today/tomorrow.

Link?

I'm not doubting you.....I'm just wondering whether the Simons will actually be there or now. I'm guessing that they don't attend Press Conferences that often...if at all.

My first thought was that they were going to announce that JONeal will return to the lineup against the Hornets.

JO coming back?

Maybe they will be announcing Bird and Walsh having another year? They both met with the Simons over the last week or two, I doubt they will be fired right as we are making a playoff run. I don't know, I'll be on my way to watch Vantage Point when they do it so someone let me know what happens.

for what it's worth, the indy channel (wrtv 6 news) is confirming the presser will take place!

Also, for what it's worth...Walsh said that he wanted to wait until after the season to discuss this and the Knicks' job...

I can't imagine that it would be something like JO coming back. I don't see why we would need the GM, President and both owners to make that announcement. That announcement would just come in a daily or weekly press conference from either Larry or Jim O'Brien.

Here's what I am thinking:

1 - Team is being put up for sale.
2 - Donnie is signing a long-term agreement.
or
3 - Larry is changing roles.

Yeah, there's an outside chance it could be something smaller like announcing ticket prices for next year, or maybe some sort of a public act to the season ticket holders (small refund, free parking for next year, coupons, luncheon, etc.) to try and placate them after the past couple of crappy years.

Walsh had a 9hr. meeting w/ the Simons yesterday (I had a link l/n, but can't find it now). Walsh's future will surely be a focus of this conferance.

It's starting:

.....

Walsh is OUT!!!
