Mark Jackson to coach Knicks?

I recall Jackson's name being mentioned in rumors with the Pacers before the season. If he ends up in NY, then it is obvious who was making the calls last year.

When the coaching rumors circulated before this season, Marc came out with a statement essentially saying there were too many chiefs in the front-office. So I'd agree that Bird is the reason Jackson didn't coming here.

I disagree, Bird coached Jackson, for him to even be mentioned in our coaching job lets me know that they had some sort of bond through that. I really wish we had hired him, but wish him all the best where ever he goes.

Regardless whether Isaiah stays or Mark Jackson comes in to coach, both increases the possibility of Tinsley to New York likely coming to fruition.

Tinsley has had a comparison to Mark Jackson from the day he's drafted, and even as Marbury's backup this year, he could very well excel.

However, an Isaiah Thomas departure does likely end most possibilities of Jermaine O'Neal going to New York.

Yes, I agree, which makes me even less likely to let Bird off of the hook or give him the benefit of the doubt. This goes to show he has been calling the shots for a while now.

As for Mark Jackson, why all the fuss? He's never coached, at any level, in any capacity. Maybe he would be a good coach, maybe he wouldn't, but he seems like a darkhorse candidate to me, for either the Knicks or the Pacers. I have absolutely no problem with the Pacers hiring O'Brien over Jackson, if Jackson ever even wanted the job to begin with.

I disagree with that,Donnie was the one who brought JO in and gave him a shot at being more than a bench player,and then when Larry come in the 1st thing he did was get rid of Zeke,who JO had come very close to after Larry said he wouldnt,so I dont see JO really wanting to be here without Donnie.

With Donnie in New York, there is NO chance at Tinsley ever going there.

There is no fuss over Jackson, in fact I like O'Brien. I was simply using it as a way of trying to figure out how long Bird has really been in charge.

I don't think that the O'Brien hire really tells us anything new though. We were told early last summer that Bird was taking the reins, and afterwhich is when Bird fired Carlisle and then hired O'Brien. We know that he was given the public reins then.
