I am, if they were to protest that game and win it would be huge for us right now. Oh well....

We would be within 2 games I believe. If we beat Atlanta it would be 1 game. This could have been huge, I'm a little upset yes. I really don't see much of a difference from picking #10 or #11 than I do at #15.

Eh, they're in a playoff race as well, and could use the win as much as we could. I trust their judgment that they're doing what they think is best for their franchise. I can't imagine them sacrificing a game if it meant the difference between matchups or possibly a home-court in the first round.

From their standpoint, though, maybe they get a better matchup from dropping, or maybe they just didn't want to have to play the game over from that point this close to the playoffs. There's no guarantee that they make the shot if they play it over. On top of that, what are the odds of the NBA replaying it? What would they do if Toronto missed the shot? Play overtime again? They already did that. So if Toronto misses they lose? It just doesn't make sense to play over.

They didn't protest because the NBA probably told them they wouldn't win. Reversing the decision would have gone against every decision Stern has ever made with regard to his referees. It would have been a waste of time and $$$.

Yup, mostly because the NBA told the Raps they REALLY don't like to be wrong. Like when there's a brawl. Overpunishing is not wrong. Destroying a franchise is okay, because Stern said so. Also, the Knicks get all the breaks.
Protesting would be unnecessary if the Raps held on to a double-digit lead.

yeah. It was worth a shot...what's 10k in this damn league? the price for 1 game in a 10 day contract? Stupid raps. I will be even more pissed if we miss the playoffs by 1 gm.

Plus if Stern thinks it would screw the Pacers by not playing it again then we all know he wouldnt do it!

I've pulled the draft related talk out of this topic. This thread is probably pretty much dead now, but it should move back to discussing the Raps' decision not to protest the Hawks game.
