Pacers Draft Board. #1 on board.

Post#1 » by xxSnEaKyPxx » Tue May 13, 2008 10:09 pm

I kinda stole this from the Knicks thread. We have a poll of what the Pacers draft board should look like, whoever gets the most votes takes that spot on the board.

I will select 7 players for each poll with a 8th option of "other" for if I am not listing someone that you want.

Hopefully we can have some fun with this.

I think Derrick Rose should be first on our board. He fills a huge need for us and would run our offense perfectly. Beasley would fit into our offense as well, but based on need and who I think will be better, I'm picking Rose.

It's a no brainer...Derrick Rose.

If I had to start from scratch, I'd take Beasley, but we have several talented forwards already.

Rose is a no-brainer....UNLESS....
-We get the #1.
-Memphis gets the #2
-We swap w/ them & pick up M.Conely
-We draft Beasley @ #2
-We trade JO to NJ in a deal for the #10 & VC if E.Gordan is there.
-In 2011, Dun,Tins, & Murph & VC (T/O for '12) expire.
-We use the cap space, M.Conely, & the "Home-town" card to lure home G.Oden.

2012 starting lineup: Oden/Beasley/Granger/Gordan/Rose!!!!! /

Whether I had to start over or stick with what we have, Rose is the answer.

Haha, who would rather have Eric Gordon than Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley?

^^That is what I am wondering and shaking my head at. I would be happy with either Rose or Beastly.... Both will be exceptional ball players, but I would prefer Rose because I look at the teams still playing and with the exception of two of them, LA and CLEV.... each team has a pretty good pg. I think that should be the most important position to fill as power forwards are easier to come by.

No offense Pacerguy, but the hometown card now only works on guys towards the end of their careers, and still the money card works better. I doubt that Memphis would trade Conley and the #2 for the #1 anyways as they would be just as content with Beasley as they would with Rose, especially BECAUSE they have Conley and are not doing well with big men.

Rose. Wait, what's the question?

Oh, Rose.

I think we're going to have 5 players tied for 5th at this rate.

Memphis wouldn't trade Mike Conley to move up 1 spot in a draft when they have a bigger need at PF than they do at PG.

That was me I thought the question was related to where we'd be picking, at #11. I guess the question was as if we win the Lottery, I would say Rose if I could change it.

I'll say Rose too, but it's a tough choice between him and Beasley...I saw Beasley play a lot in the Big 12, and he's really good, and I don't know that the Pacers really have all that much going for them in the low post, particularly if JO is just biding his time until he can get out of Indiana, as I suspect he is.
