Once again, this is an exercise I would like to continue through at least the 1st round to simply see how, on average, the Pacers fans on this board would rank the prospective players in the draft. Don't worry about how we would possibly get the 17th pick, just simply look at who, of the remaining players, you would select. Thanks guys.

Alexander is the best player available.

Alexander might be the BPA. Then again, he might not be...I think it's a bit of a jumble at this point in the draft. I'll go again with CDR, I think he is a comparable talent to Alexander, and I think he is the more valuable to the Pacers because they have more need for a shooting guard than for a small forward.

CDR for me. He brings a lot more to the table and the Pacers need a guy like him who can run the point or even maybe play post up game.

I went with Robin Lopez because I've heard he's moving up draft boards and to me I don't think there's too much difference between him and Brook. He definitely has the athletic potential to make him a steal...and the size that can be deceiving enough to make a team reach for him. Haven't decided exactly on him.

CDR for me.

I'm going with Joe Alexander. Best player available IMO, and even though he may not answer a need, I think his talent is significantly above the rest of the pack (kind of like the Galinari pick earlier). Plus, I think he could play some PF in an uptempo system.

Ugh guys stop with the CDR love fest.. he is DEFINITELY not a point guard and cannot post up.

Just a thought I think once we get the mock draft complete we should run it again and see how and if it changes.

Of course he is not a point guard; he is a 6'7" shooting guard. Who shot 54 pct. from the field last year. And averaged nearly six free-throw attempts per game. At that height, and with that capacity to draw fouls and score efficiently, I would venture to say that "posting up" has not been much of a problem for him up to now. (And frankly, how important is it anyway to have a two guard who posts up? I can think of numerous abilities that seem more important for a two guard to have.) But of course we can only guess how he will be in the pros.

You have no idea how educated that scouting report was. Maybe he got confused, maybe he feels strongly about it, we just don't know.



However, you can't just arbitrarily rule that your opinion is highly educated and his automatically is not. Everyone here has the same right to exhibit their opinion. You have no right to try and inhibit their's.




Attack the post, not the poster.

I think we all know I wasn't attacking the poster. But to say CDR can run the point and post up in the NBA is just not accurate.

Well, perhaps not on a full time basis. Posting up is something almost all players in the league should do from time to time to exploit matchups. Its not outside the realm of possibility for a 6'7 CDR to post up smaller shooting guards in the NBA. Its also not completely unheard of to think that he could handle the ball from time to time. With that being said, I agree with you in the sense that expecting him to do this is quite the stretch. If we were to draft him, posting people up and running the point are not the things we would be drafting him to do.

Also, should we go ahead and award this to Alexander? We havent had any new votes for a while.

CDR is very intriguing. 18 ppg in under 29 mpg, on 54% from the floor and 41% from downtown. And 6 fta in those 29 minutes. He's got the potential to be a huge scorer in the NBA - I could see him putting up 23-25 ppg in his prime. I think his offense is that good.

If we could turn #11 and #41 into two picks in the late teens/early 20's, and walk away with CDR and Augustin or Lawson, I'd be very pleased.
