So in order to get rid of our overpaid PG, you suggest we take back an overpaid PG, an overpaid C, and give up our best rebounder? If I'm correct the second round pick would be #31, but worsening our cap situation and giving away one of our better players certainly isn't worth that.

I like the top one better. I like keeping our second and getting another early second as well as getting banks. good trade for both.

Actually, the second rounder would have to be next years. They traded their second rounder this year to the Wolves I think. So it wouldnt even be that good. No thanks.

I'm fine with a Tinsley/Blount type deal, I don't like the idea of adding Foster though.

I would do that, except that by my reckoning the Pacers need to dump some salary by next summer in order to pay for Granger's next contract (which most likely will start in 2009-2010).
Keeping Daniels until his contract expires next summer seems like the simplest way of doing that. The other options would be to just let Foster go next summer, or trade JO or Murphy or Dunleavy for an expiring contract(s).
I'd rather find some other way to trade Tinsley for Blount. How about Tinsley + Diogu for Blount + pick #52? (I'm suggesting that in the other Indiana-Miami trade thread as well.)

Yea, trading Daniels would make it harder to resign Granger, I would be down from that Diogu trade.
