To turn this franchise around we need to...

Post#1 » by pacershereiam » Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:56 pm

As the draft comes closer, I can't help but think about what we should do to get this team moving. I have seen some good trades talked about, but I want to give my opinion.

Lineup:
Tinsley/Diener
Dunleavy/Daniels
Granger/Williams/Graham
Oneal/Diogu
Foster/Murphy

Trade 1:
Chicago sends: Thomas, Hinrich,Gooden, #39
Indiana sends: Oneal, S&T Murray

Lineup:
Hinrich/Tinsley,Diener
Dunleavy/Daniels
Granger/Williams/Graham
Gooden/Thomas/Diogu
Foster/Murphy

Trade 2:
Seattle sends: #24, Marshall,Sene
Indiana sends: Foster,Diogu, 09 2nd rounder

Lineup:
Hinrich/Tinsley/Diener
Dunleavy/Daniels
Granger/Williams/Graham
Gooden/Thomas/Marshall
Murphy/Sene

Draft Picks:
#11:Marreese Speights
#24:Courtney Lee
#39:Joey Dorsey
#41:George Hill

Lineup:
Hinrich/Tinsley/Diener/Hill
Dunleavy/Lee/Daniels
Granger/Williams/Graham
Gooden/Thomas/Marshall
Speights/Dorsey/Murphy/Sene

Buyout:
Marshall

Trade:
Memphis sends: 09,10 second round picks
Indiana sends: Williams

Final Lineup:
Hinrich/Tinsley/Diener/Hill
Dunleavy/Lee/Daniels
Granger/Graham
Gooden/Thomas
Speights/Dorsey/Murphy/Sene

I think this will transform our team and be a fun team to watch. Your thoughts? I think these are all realistic trades. We would have a new look team, and a much better team.

Trade 1:

I like it but chicago wouldnt touch it. You could cut out the #39 and we could add our #41, and maybe the look at it.

Trade 2:
Seattle sends: #24, Marshall,Sene
Indiana sends: Foster,Diogu, 09 2nd rounder

I dont want nore do we need sene or marshall. I personally think foster and diogu both could fetch there own 1st rd pick. I wouldnt part ways with foster but I would say we move diogu for a first.

Buyout:
Marshall

have the pacers ever bought out a player ever?

Trade:
Memphis sends: 09,10 second round picks
Indiana sends: Williams

Theres not going to be anything at either of those two picks worth giving up shawne for. i would like to hold on to him unless we got back lowry or conley or a mid 1st rd pick.

I like your base concept but even though getting new young players is exciting and fun at first a lot of times its not improving over what you have already.

The players I would like to see traded for different reasons, and could realistically get traded would be JO, Tinsley, Daniels, Ike, and possibly shawne if a the deal is right. I know we cant move murphy and I think moving foster would leave us thin at pf, c position. i think diener isnt going to fetch anything and is a good back up pg at a good price. i honestly think graham could be pretty darn good and he has no value. dunleavy in my opinion makes other players better has a great attitude work ethic everything pacer fans look for. granger is our franchise player nuff said.

Trade 2
IND in:
Harrington

G.S. in:
Tinsley, Daniels

Lineup
Hinrich/Diener
Dunleavy/Graham
Granger/Williams
Harrington/Thomas
Foster/Murphy/Milicic
#11, #28

I like that both of you have ideas and everything to help make the team better. I don't want to be too harsh, but I don't see a lot of what you proposed helping Indiana all that much. Yes, I would like to trade Jermaine to Chicago with Hinrich as the principle with what we get back. Do the Bulls like JO and want his contract though? Maybe, so I am good there.

Also, I don't see Al Harrington wanting to come back to Indiana for a third time, and I don't see Bird pursuing that. I like Al, but two times through is plenty. Also, would Golden St really want Marquis or Jamal? I am thinking not.

I really would look at moving Jeff Foster. I love the guy, he is one of my all time favorites. That said, if you want to get something you must give something. Jeff Foster is one of the few guys on this team that produces, hustles and has a reasonable contract. Other than Granger and Dunleavy (who most likely will not move) he is our best bargaining chip IMO, much better than even Williams.

That would rebuild us pretty well. lol

But for all those things to go in place, we all better start hitting up the church and praying hardcore.

pacershereiam...I can't help but notice that Tinsley is still on the team at the end of this. If all these deals came true (God only knows how possible that is), but Tinsley was still on the team, I would view the summer a miserable failure.

greenway...the Pacers already traded away their '09 2nd round pick for Stanko, and I see no reason for Golden State to take Tinsley...Harrington is a much more movable asset. More importantly...Daniels & Tinsley for Harrington does not work under the salary cap.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Sorry for the off-topic, but when are we going to receive the 2nd round pick for James Jones? I thought it was this year from the Suns? Anyone know?

Technically, we received it this year, but immediately conveyed it to Portland to complete the James 'Flight' White draft day deal. This way, we kept our better 2nd round pick.
