Big in Free Agent?

What about the possibility of adding Patrick O'Bryant to the team or maybe a Kwame Brown? I know nothing big, but since we are young, why not? We aren't going to win anything now anyways. A one to two year contract. I would like to see Brown cause he has a lot of experience, and Bryant could be nice too. Your thoughts??

adding a young center would just get in Hibbert's way. most the minutes will go to Jeff, Rasho, and Troy but Hibbert needs a shot at what's left. plus they might give Sims another look.

I love the idea of adding Carl Landry, and I think it would be a great signing as he's a future full-time starter in this league, but it's not likely given our cap situation.

I do agree we need one more serviceable big man, preferably a power forward. Craig Smith looked pretty good, as does Ronny Turiaf. Both could be out of our price range though. I'd imagine a cheap possibility could be Chris Richard. He has good size (6'9" 255 lb.) and was mildly impressive as a rookie. He could probably be had for the minimum, or slightly above it, and is more intriguing than Courtney Sims.

our former 2nd round pick alexender johnson could be a possibility. he played fairly well for miami at the end of the season last year.

This season, we do not have the Salarycap space to sign a FA. If there is one that can cost about $1-2 mil a season...then we can probably get one. Otherwise....I'm guessing that if one were to end up on the roster....it would be via a S&T.

Last thing I want is a Kwame Brown.

I'd like to see us add a starting caliber PF, I think we have enough capable backup bigs.

I think we should trade Quis and Tinsley for whatever we can get in return, and leave the team alone from there unless we can get Landry.

No other moves.

Yeah, the only move I personally think we need to make is to move Tinsley. If we can hold onto Daniels' expiring contract or move him for a somewhat equal expiring contract would be amazing.

I'm thinking more and more a straight up deal for Donyell Marshall would make a lot of sense for both teams. Donyell could play PF for us and fill in in a pinch at SF, while Marquis would allow Green, Collison, Sene, Petro, and even Durant to get the majority of the minutes at the SF/PF spots, and Daniels could fill in as needed in the backcourt.

He isn't a free agent, but I wouldn't mind somehow acquiring Sean May from Charlotte. They have Okafor, rookie Ajinca, and Jared Dudley, so he could be expendable.

Rasho + McRoberts for Mohammed + May works.

I don't see us moving McRoberts. I think he was brought him based on potential, i think Pacers feel he entered the draft a year too early which cost him and dropped him into the 2nd round but also for PR. He's a good kid and a local kid. Someone who can go into the community and sign a few balls, make some appearances and give the Pacers some good press. McRoberts is a lock to make this squad, IMO.

My thoughts exactly. We have moved around plenty, now it is time to take inventory and see what we have.

Honestly, I think McRoberts was brought in as a filler, but thats just me. He entered the draft a year or two too late, not early. I think he'll probably make it, but he isnt someone Bird and Co. hold out much hope for.

I still like the idea of daniels for swift. I also think we need to deal Rasho and/or Foster before their contracts expire, becuase I assume we wont get either back. Even if its for some picks or young projects.

I don't mind swapping Marquis for Swift ( cuz this actually fits a need ), but I don't see why the Nets do that trade....there just isn't any incentive for them to do that ( unless they want to make room for their frontcourt rotation ) As for Rasho...I really would much rather let him expire and then have the opportunity to play a little in the FA market next season then try to trade them just to get something back in return for them.

Also...judging from how this offseason has gone so far.....I don't want to do anything that will mess up our chances of resigning Granger and Jack. I guarantee that the Blazers are going to be gunning for Granger next season.......we have to have the $$$ and Salarycap to resign Granger next season. If that means that we let Rasho and Marquis expire while living with a PF rotation of Murphy/Foster/Shawne/Baston for 1 season...then I am happy with that.

As for Foster....why don't you think that the Pacers won't get back Foster? Assuming that Bird doesn't go all "Mullin" on us and make some "panic" moves and we simply let them all Expire.......I think that we will have the space to resign Foster even after we extend Granger and resign Jack.
