These are some big men that I found that could come in and help us. Some are PF and some are C. Locked up for the future we will have:
Ford/Jack (assuming we resign both of them which we should)
Dunleavy/Rush
Granger/Williams
____
Hibbert/Foster

There are some others like Murphy,Graham,Diener, and such, but I think that will be our rotation. We need a good PF to go with this group. I think David Lee, Sean May, Drew Gooden, and Brandon Bass we should really look at. Sean May has been hurt, but if you look at his numbers when healthy he is good. Lee has heart and plays hard, and thats what we need. Gooden has a good post game and is a good rebounder, and Brandon Bass, puts up good numbers even though I have never really watched him play. With Ford creating, Dunleavy and Rush and Granger hitting open threes, with Hibbert manning the middle, that just leaves us with a PF and a low post game. Your thoughts??

Josh Powell is another on the list. He is avg. 5 and 5 a game in just 19 mpg.

Haslem and Josh Boone also would be good additions.

Miller has said he wanted to finish his career in Indiana, due to his former big payday and the fact that he is on the decline... he might come back cheap which would give us a 7'0'' shooter/hustler/passer (miller) as well a a 7'0'' shot blocker/defender/rebounder (Hibbert)

I think that it all depends on how much we have to spend after resigning Granger and Jack. In addition...I want to resign Foster as well.

Solid list there but we can't forget that half if not more of these players will be resigned before they become free agents

I think we will focus more on the '09 free agents, seeing as how we have a boatload of contracts coming off the books after this season (although I suspect one or two of them will be resigned).

Good point about some of them resigning. I really like Lee, Chandler and Bass.

Can someone confirm for me when we have to resign Jack?

Is he a restricted FA in the 2008 season ( as in we have to resign him now )?

or

Is he a restricted FA in the 2009 season ( as in we hav eto resign him next offseason )?

When I look at the FA list on RealGM, it shows that he's a restricted FA in the summer of 2008.

Using very conservative estimates.....I think that we will probably have about $3-4 mil in Salary Cap space to sign a FA in the summer of 2009/2010 even after we resign Granger ( $10-11mil in 2009 ), Jack ( $4-5 mil in 2009 ) and ( preferably ) Foster ( $6.5 mil in 2009 ) and signing the player we draft that season ( $2 mil in 2009 ).

We're probably looking at this lineup when we hit the summer of 2009 FA period:

PG - Ford / Jack / Diener
SG - Rush / Dunleavy ( with Dunleavy as our 6th Man )
SF - Granger / Shawne
PF - Murphy / ????
C - Foster / Hibbert ( hopeuflly Hibbert will be ready to Start by 2009 ASB )

My target would be a scoring rotational PF in the mold of Foster that can score as a 3rd to 5th scoring option on the team.
