Jersey numbers for the new Pacers

Post#1 » by freeman » Wed Jul 9, 2008 10:25 am

I'm thinking this might be fun, a little leeway away from the stressing issues.
Just a prediction or an opinion about what number should the new Pacers wear next season.

TJ Ford:
#7 I'd really love to see small guys wear small, single numbers. It makes everything kinda proportional. Plus, i don't need a remembrance from Jamaal Tinsley so i hope TJ wouldn't wear no. 11. And i don't mind being reminded of J.O.

Rasho Nesterovic:
25 No. 12 is already taken. Two-digit jersey numbers would complement his long surname.

Roy Hibbert:
55 His college jersey number.

(maybe) Maceo Baston:
9 back to his old Indiana jersey number.

Jarrett Jack:
5 Though he might still choose to wear #1, i think #5 looks better.

Brandon Rush:
23 I'd really love to see a Pacer don a #23 jersey. hope it's Rush.Though he might wear #25.

Josh McRoberts:
40 #4's taken.

I don't particularly care what number they wear, although I'd like to see Ford take #11 just to tick Tinsley off as much as possibe.

No way I want T.J. to be #7, preferably I'd like him to be able to wear his favorite #11.

I'm sure Hibbert and Rush will don their college numbers.

I don't care what number McRoberts is, as long as he does turn his #4 into #44

I'd love to have Ford take #11, but I doubt it even if Jamaal is gone...mainly because right now he's still here and jersey numbers will need to be selected if they already haven't been.

Yes he is. I'm very excited to have Stephen Graham back this year by the way.

The only question will be merchandising. It's not uncommon for new players to have one number in summer/preseason, then switch to a different number when the season starts. If Jamaal's gone before the regular season, the TJ could take 11. Of course, I'm sure that the Pacers are going to want to start marketing TJ Jerseys, so that could put a wrinkle in it.

Great find Count...

I like the Jack '1', because I was always a fan of Stephen as crazy as he could be.

The question becomes, which do I buy?

I like the TJ Ford jersey. I may have to update my jersey collection (which consists solely of different Reggie Miller jerseys hanging around my room) and get a Ford jersey and a Granger jersey.

For some reason, I only like the authentic jerseys, or whatever they are called now. The ones without the shiny number decals. I like the sewn on numbers.

We've had this discussion in the past, and I'm too lazy to dig it up, but I have a ton of jerseys.

However, I believe Count has me beat by a wide margin.

By the end of the season I'll probably get a Ford and Rush...maybe the Jack just because I love the way it looks...

Of the current players, I only have two Grangers...a blue and a white.

I think if we sign Foster to a multiyear contract next summer, I'm going to get one of him. I'm just afraid he'll leave at this point.

Side note: Has anyone tried to place an order on ConsecoFieldhouse.com?

I've exactly tried a few times to get myself a Jermaine Swingman Jersey (reduced to $19.99), but to no avail...

Holy Cow Count! If I ever need to borrow a jersey, I know who to call.

I like the Brandon Rush one a lot, but I've always been a 20's guy when it comes to jersey #'s.

If I ever get a surplus of money, I'd like to go to that jersey shop in Conseco and have a Big Smooth Sam Perkins one made maybe in yellow pinstripes. I just got a navy Danny Granger jersey though.

I'm pretty sure I've worn all of them at least once...sometimes to play, alot of the older ones to do yardwork in. Many, many of them are XXL's, but since I've dropped from 285 to 185, most of those fit me like a dress....the jerseys I bought late this season were Mediums, and they fit me a lot better.

I also have two IU Basketball Jerseys (Alan Henderson Authentic, Brian Evan Replica), two IU football Jerseys (Rob Turner, Kellen Lewis), and the following Colts Jerseys:

#4 - Jim Harbaugh Home Blue
#18 - Peyton Manning Road White
#29 - Joseph Addai Home Blue Authentic
#32 - Edgerrin James Road White
#55 - Quentin Coryatt Home Blue
#58 - Gary Bracket Home Blue
#87 - Reggie Wayne Home Blue
#88 - Marvin Harrison Home Blue
#93 - Dwight Freeney Road White

Targeting a Bob Sanders, and maybe a Dallas Clark and Jeff Saturday.

My son has the thing for Jerseys, but mostly football. He's got a Danny Granger, a Saras, a JO, a SJax, a Freddie, Al Harrington #32 67 Throwback, and I think a Ron (#91 for 10 bucks). He has a Peyton & 2 Marvin jerseys, but he's also got Eli, Reggie Bush, LaDanian Tomlinson, James Hardy (IU Jersey), a Personalized #4 Buccaneers jersey (he was a RB for his 2nd Grade Flag Football Bucs, scored 4 TDS!!!), JaMarcus Russell, Julius Peppers, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Brady Quinn (ND Jersey...thereyago, Scoot). He also has a black Indianapolis Indians jersey and an Indiana Ice jersey.

My goodness. First of all, you dropped 100 pounds? That is a ton of weight man. Congrats on that one...I am having one helluva time gaining 10 pounds.

I had a real jersey fetish when I was in the fourth grade. I literally wore jerseys every single day to school. In the winter, I even had turtlenecks with the Pacers logo on the collar to complement the vast array of jerseys. I wish I had still kept some of them--namely the Calbert Cheaney Bullets jersey and the immortal Damon Bailey Pacers jerseys. I really havent worn any since then (its been quite a while since I was in the fourth grade), but do amass Reggie jerseys because he is a God and I must have them.

How much do jerseys even run for now?
