Josh Powell anyone?
Just saw he was released by the Clippers. Think we give him a second shot?

No. We have too many players as it is, and he isnt a difference maker.

Re: Josh Powell anyone?
I am a bit surprised. LAC now has like only 4 players above 6'-9" (Kaman, Camby, Jordan, Thomas).
I think they still have enough cap space, and might be looking for an upgrade over Powell.
Powell was impressive last season especially at the second half.
This kid deserves to be in this league. I would sign him if I am Larry.
He's cheap, and he's obviously better than McBob and Baston.

We have 16 players under contract. You would need to cut 2 players just to sign Josh Powell. I doubt that happens. I think people will be surprised by what Baston brings.

I like Powell, but I don't think hes a big enough difference maker to justify cutting two guys for.

Re: Josh Powell anyone?
Signing Powell by cutting two guys is not what i mean. I'm thinking Larry would do a trade or two to free some roster space for some possible additions, and eliminate the guys this team won't be needing.
And yes, Baston would be really helpful especially on the defensive side, and especially now that we don't have JO to defend the paint.
Among our bigs, Foster and Baston are the only two guys who can get really physical. That is not to degrade Rasho in any way, but he's not the kind who possesses hustling defense.
His defense is naturally a product of his physique. He's more equipped offensively. And most probably will flourish more being an offensive center than a defensive center.
Same as Hibbert, IMO. Though Hibbert can still be molded to be a well-equipped center both offensively and defensively. But that would take some time for sure.
Powell, right now, as a difference maker is quite a stretch. But he would be a valuable reserve, nonetheless. I don't see any harm in Larry signing Powell, well, that is after we've freed up some roster space.

Re: Josh Powell anyone?
That would be true and i don't think Larry would really force a trade just to make room for Powell.
If there's a space in the roster, that would be a possibility. But if there's none, then no Powell.
But since Larry's trying to move Tinsley and some guys on the block like Daniels, a possibility of freeing up a space in the roster would be possible. The signing of any free agent would be a secondary priority. First priority would be unloading the unwanted players and contracts plus freeing a roster spot.

I agree, and disagree.
He certainly is better than McRoberts, but he's not better than Baston, at least he wasn't last time around.
If we can move Tinsley for a TE (somehow, how amazing would that be) or a non-guaranteed contract, then we might be able to sign Powell and let him and McRoberts duke it out in training camp for the roster spot, but that's about it.

I thought we might trade to get him, but now that he's cut I don't see what we can do.
