Lets make a deal!

Post#1 » by basketballwacko2 » Sun Aug 3, 2008 7:54 pm

The time is fast approaching now that we're gonna have to make a deal for JT or make a decission about how to handle him staying on the team, assuming that Bird means what he says about buyouts. I don't want to buyout JT because I don't like the idea of his buyout sitting on our cap for 3 yrs, and then he goes to where ever and plays for Vet min. So I've been hearing this kicked around for weeks, Denver might be the spot we could deal with they are sitting with only about 9 or 10 guys under contract right now and near the luxury tax level. What kinda chances are there that we could work a deal with them for let's say Kmart and Atkins? I'd do Murphy, Williams, Graham and JT, for kmart, Atkins and Linas Kleiza. With kleiza being the sticking point in my mind i don't think Denver would give him up so we could take him out of the deal.

My other deal is the one Shrink came up with that's on the Trade thread. The Hornets deal, Butler, Mo Pete and Mike james for JT, Daniels, Williams and Diener.

We either need to do something like this or figure out what we're gonna do with Tinsley between now and Janurary 09.

denver is one of only a few candidates to receive tinsley via trade (and i'd say they're probably only candidate to receive murphy via trade any time soon). i think maybe a more realistic deal is just tinsley & daniels for nene & atkins.

the only other teams i can see trading for tinsley are miami, cleveland, & washington.

one thing's for sure, the time's a coming... bird needs to make a clutch move.

Now that they've given Marcus Camby away, Nene looks to be a major part of their team next season. I can't see them doing this deal.

I"d do jamaal and Daniels for nene but the problem with the deal is the nuggs take extra salary and go back above the luxury tax. So they would want to send out Atkins as well. Chucky's deal is not gauranteed for 2009-10 so we could cut him after the comming season or deal him for a draft pick and let the new team cut him. his non-gauranteed deal of $3,480,000 would save some team some luxury tax money so he'd have future value to us.

so change my deal to JT, Daniels and Williams for Nene and Atkins, i'd rather do the way i had it but his is acceptable to me as well.

hey guys. I was thinking about the Denver trade and I am not sure if they are going to want to trade Kmart, while over paid and injury prone, he is a top defender and someone they need after getting rid of Camby. Nene seems to be a part of their future without camby. So if the Nuggs are content on keeping both bigs then how would this trade look:

Denver Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Stephen Graham

Shawne Williams

Jamaal Tinsley

Outgoing Players
Chucky Atkins

Steven Hunter

Indiana Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Chucky Atkins

Outgoing Players

Jamaal Tinsley

We get rid of Tin man and our contracts we receive are not too bad.

Would we have to give up more or would the Nuggs, like draft picks at all? Let me know what you guys think and maybe we can finally find a Tinsley trade good enough for both us and the other team. Thanks everyone!

or hw about this one in which we lower our roster size, gain a couple bigs, and loose Tins. Wash gets a solid back up to Daniels and some depth also.
