This is going to be the fourth in our series of projections and discussions about all of our players this year. Essentially, we'll go through all 15 Pacers (I'm excluding Droopy) and talk about our expectations. Each poster will cut and paste form below and fill it out, adding their reasoning at the bottom. The reasoning is the most important, as it will help the conversation.
The first five guys will go up today, and they will be the fringe players. Then will come the rotational players, then we'll get to our key players. If you're looking to do a little research on the guys, I'd suggest BBR as the best statistical site.
So, here we start with:
Shawne Williams
Games Played:
Games Lost To Injury:
DNP-CD's:
Minutes per Game:
Points per Game:
Rebounds per Game:
Assists per Game:
FG%:
3FG%:
FT%:
Other Key Stats (can be Steals, Blocks, TO's, A/TO ratio, etc.)
Reasoning/Synopsis: Describe why you think this player will provide these numbers. What will his role be? What's his best-case? What's his worst-case?
Lets get started.

I'm going to take the sunshiny approach and assume that Williams not only is still on the team on opening night but manages to work his way out of the doghouse somehow.
Long-term, Williams stays on the Pacers only if he stays out of any more trouble, AND some other team makes us an offer for Dunleavy that we can't refuse. Without that happening, I just think that at this point a developing small forward is a luxury for the Pacers, and one they can fairly easily do without if Williams continues to be more trouble than he is worth.

Assuming Williams stays:
Games Played: 70
Games Lost To Injury: 2
DNP-CD's: 10
Minutes per Game: 18
Points per Game: 9.5
Rebounds per Game: 3.0
Assists per Game: 1.0
FG%: 45%
3FG%: 35%
FT%: 70%
Steals per Game: 0.3
Blocks per Game: 0.4
Should Williams stay, he'll play a significant role in the rotation especially at times when Granger plays the 4. Seems to me that he'll have adequate playing time switching at the 2 and 3, and maybe occasionally at the 4, though he still lacks the body to be a pf, Obie can use his versatility and quickness.

While I'd love for Shawne to break out this year, I simply don't think it's going to happen. the only reason I think he'll get as many minutes as I have for him is that I think he'll be given some run at the 4. Too many bodies in front of him with too slow of a learning curve to indicate that he'll make a name this year.
Of course, it's still even money or better that he'll be on the move.
