Christmas Eve in August

The NBA will release the 2008-09 schedule today at 11 am. I figured I would go ahead and start the thread. However, I'm not sure I'll be able to post it because I'll be at the Colts Camp.

Thoughts or who you would like the Pacers play opening night?

I could see them playing Boston with OKC playing Milwaukee

*EDIT NOTE*: We the posters have agreed that the title should be "Christmas Eve In August". The actual "Christmas" will be when JT gets traded.

Man I was thinking Tinsley got traded for a quality player. This more like the day after Christmas in Auguts. Anyways I would like to play Boston. Simply because what better way tomeasure up our team than to play the best. Im not saying we are oggd enough to but if we want to make to the finals we will have to go through them anyways.

I would think Boston would be the worst possible first opponent. We have seven new players as of now on our roster. I know Baston and McRoberts won't play much, but still I imagine TJ and Rasho will start, and Rush, Hibbert, and Jack could play big roles. We need a little more time to mesh during the regular season when things matter, and playing Boston first wouldn't really allow for that.

Good point. but it looks like OKC is going to be the spot.

Our schedule is out.

Tough way to start out. Open on the road vs Detroit, home opener vs Boston, home vs Phoenix and on the road vs Cleveland. I really hope we don't start out 0-4. Can't wait!

Did anybody else get a funky vibe when they looked at two of our games at the end of the year.

We play Boston at the home of the Knicks.

We play Milwaukee in Miami.

LOL yeah wtf is that about?

Side note, Pacers will not play a single game on any of the big 3 networks.

It must be mis-print- Pacers.com says
As the Pacers make a push for the playoffs, they can look to a season-ending stretch where 10 of their last 14 games will be at home with the season finale, Apr. 15, in Conseco Fieldhouse against Milwaukee.

There is no way you can think the Nets are better than us?

I think we could win a game or two out of the first 4.

I think he meant 0-4, our 5th game is against the last ranked team in the NBA.

Boston
Detroit
Phonix
Cleveland

If we can squeak out one win out of those 4 games we would be 1-3 with the following coming up

Nets
Thunder (?)
Nets

Those are probably the two weakest teams in the league, we should be able to take those 3 which would put us at 4-3. Not a bad start at all.

Phoenix is the home opener, and I really think we will win that. It is the most winnable game out of the first four, and I really think we take it. I will be in attendance, so they had better win.
