NYK - IND

Post#1 » by greenway84 » Fri Aug 8, 2008 5:27 pm

I was just reading a rocket pacer post on the trade forum. And somebody said all nyk would get for marbury is bad contracts. why havent we considered trading for him.

Tinsley
Daniels
Shawne
McRoberts
--------------
Marbury

He's exp after this year. I honestly thought that large of an exp was a huge value but maybe not.

I believe it is due to his attitude and that teams may be expecting a buyout if worst comes to worst. We have seen this with JT but imagine that problem with a guy making around 20 million or so per season. Do you see where I am coming from? He is an awfully expensive liabilty that would take more than bad contracts to get done if I'm correct. I think a deal for Marbury could benefit some teams but I don't us being one of them. Talk for Marbs will probably heat up during the next year I would imagine.

Cause as much as people don't think highly of dealing with Tinsley's 20 million for three years, very few GM's are willing to deal with Marbury's 20 million for more then 3 seconds, let alone one season.

I see a problem with this the Pacers take and extra $4 million plus this season that puts us over the luxury tax and costs us the rebate this deal has the pacers costing $7-8 million more than doing nothing. no thanks we easily decline that.

The Knicks are trying to cut payroll, i cant see them taking on long deals if they dream of getting LeBron in 2010

I can see us doing this and not the Knicks. We get rid of 3 years of Tinsley and can buyout Marbury for a lot less than we would pay to deal with the other 4. McBob is nothing, and the other 3 are problems so I'd do this.

i haven't thought of any trade ideas just the idea of the trade but would it be possible at all to trade those 4 guys and/or Murphy or another contract to a 3rd team? it sounds like it would take a lot of work but maybe if we put all of our minds together and think of a trade that would work then maybe we could send it to Bird himself haha or we all could be proud of ourselves...whichever one would be easiest
