The only good news in all of this is that the Bucks take a hit in talent. Mo may not be much of a defender, but he's Gary Payton when compared to Luke Ridnour. He's also a much better scorer and overall player than either Ridnour or Jones.

what's bad about the news that both Williams and Ridnour are off the market? Tinsley just moved up two spots.

Who else needs a point guard? I know Miami and New York, but is that all?

The Knicks signed Chris Duhon and are working towards capspace in 2010.
Miami, Orlando, and New Orleans are now our best hopes. Maybe Boston, but with Rondo and House looking adequate, I doubt it.

Like Bucky said, New York doesn't need one.
Here's Chris Reina's take:
Here's Chris Reina's take:
The Cavaliers converted two spare parts, Damon Jones and Joe Smith, into a scoring point guard in Mo Williams on Wednesday.
Williams just barely outperformed the first year of his new contract with a Reina Value of +9%. He is a very good scorer (48.8%) but not an ideal point guard in today's NBA, though that is offset by how much LeBron James controls the ball in Cleveland’s offense.
Williams was 6th amongst point guards in points per game, but had a 2.3 assist/turnover ratio, which ranks him behind 35 other point guards in the category.

I'd like this deal a lot more for Cleveland if they coulda held onto Joe Smith and moved a guy like Pavlovic instead.
I just think Smith would've been their best PF this season, with Hickson likely needing time to develop and Varejao just not having any offensive skills. Wallace and Ilgauskas are centers.

i'm wondering about the same thing. Smith's still better than Varejao overall, IMO. Now they only got Hickson and Allred as reserves. They got better in the backcourt, but their frontcourt looks really thin. I wonder how that goes. Hmmm.. maybe another deal could get them another PF?

Yeah, maybe they trade Delonte West for frontcourt help.

Could they become a team that the Heat looks to deal with... Something centered around a West for Haslem type deal??
