Maybe Larry Bird knew something at the draft? If we had selected Arthur, this would have been devistating news to the Pacers.

College teams are pretty tight with one another. Any chance Rush has this "habit" too and just wasn't caught this time? You'll have to understand my concern.

Is there a chance? Yes. Am I concerned? No. College teammates are tight, but we drafted Rush in part because of his character. On top of that, he can see first hand what happened to Tinsley because of his drug problems. He'd have to be incredibly stupid to use the stuff anywhere he could possibly be caught with it, and as long as it doesn't affect his play I really couldn't care less what he does in his free time.

I don't think there is anyway Bird would have known Arthur had a "problem" with pot heading into the Draft.

Also, just because he had some in his room, doesn't mean he's a "pothead".

It technically is the offseason too, just ask Josh Howard.

Yeah, this is probably much of a surprise to Bird as it is to anyone else. I think we very easily could've taken one of these guys had we been successful in acquiring a late first round pick. I consider ourselves really fortunate we didn't though. I don't even want to think of the backlash that would result had we taken one of these guys, and they had gotten in trouble with drugs.

I can't imagine that's the reason, as stated above i sincerely doubt anyone had known about this before the draft.

I doubt Brandon has this habit as well. The guy is a self-admitted nerd and spends his free-time watching tennis and playing video games. You can see the dorkiness in him when he gives interviews. I will admit though that the first thing I thought about when I read this yesterday is "Man Rush better not have been with them."

As a nerd, I must say that we are not immune to marijuana exposure and temptation.

With Chalmers getting bad press in Miami and reports that Beasley was the guy hiding in the bathroom, the chances of them taking JT just got even lower.

After watching these "The Rookie" webisodes about Beasley on espn.com, and sort of getting a gauge on his personality, I could see B-Easy doing this.

I see what you're saying. With a little more thought on the subject, Rush may be a pothead secretly. I mean who really sits around and watches tennis and finds it entertaining?

You can't be serious?

1. If Bird truly wanted to know, he could. I'm sure he has some serious connections in that area. He's Larry Bird and millions of dollars goes into recruiting, i'm sure if he wanted to ask, he could find out. Heck, even when they talked to Brandon Rush he could have mentioned something.

2. I don't think that was his first time. And it's not his last.

3. Who cares? It's a illegal drug.

Grang,

A majority of that post was sarcasm, but I don't believe Bird knew.
