I kno a lot of people are trying to find a place for Tinsley to go and options are running out. But could we trade Tinsley for a retiring player. Maybe like a Darrell Armstrong, Mutumbo, or Jerome James. I don't know how a retired player's contract works when it happens. I don't think the team benefits any from it.

from what I know, when a player retires, there contract is basically cancelled out because they've decided not to play no more. Thats why NYK arent trying to get Jarome James to retire to get cap relief. If I am right, theres no way we can trade Tinsley for a retiring player. Retired players are a benefit for a team due to the cap releif....we should try getting Jamaal to retire

Generally, retiring players can either be paid their full salary or not by the team. However, if a player retires for non-injury reasons (like, they're just old), the contract usually tends to stay on the books, much like Reggie's did for us after he retired.
However, SAR should have his contract removed from the books as early as mid-November.

We can't trade Jamaal for a bad contract...who wants to give away cap relief to get him?
