Press Conference: Croshere and Tinsley

Post#1 » by xxSnEaKyPxx » Fri Sep 26, 2008 5:12 pm

I didn't actually get to listen to it, but from what I picked up, Bird said that Austin Croshere has been invited to training camp and hopes to get a roster spot.

Then, about Tinsley, he said multiple teams have interest in Tinsley, they are working on some things now, and hope to have a deal done within the next few days!

I'm so excited, both about Croshere and Tinsley. Is anyone else thinking Croshere may be coming to training camp to replace Williams if he is involved in a potential Tinsley deal. Oh, Bird also said they are looking at doing a 2 for 1 trade.

Man, I'm excited, if someone has more info please post it.

Pacersdigest.com.

Is that considered advertisement? I never really go there, but it came up on Google for Pacers Press Conference.

The press conference was streamed live on indystar.com

I'm not sure if they're gonna put a recap or something on pacers.com but I hope so because I missed it. Mike Wells mentioned the press conference in his blog and said that Croshere was invited to camp, but the contract wasn't guaranteed. He would have to earn a spot and even then we'd need pull off a 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 trade.

About Tinsley, he mentioned Tinsley is staying in his house in Atlanta until a trade is finalized. He will not be near the team or even in the same state for that matter. I didn't see anything about a trade happening in a few days.

What I found interesting was Bird mentioned they had a chance to get a PF, but it would cost too much. What this means, I'm not sure. Maybe Landry?

Hopefully we can clear out some roster spaces and keep McRoberts and Austin. If not, bring Austin on as an assistant.

Again, I got my information from PD, someone there said Bird said something about a trade being done within the next few days, then again, that might just be hoping.

It's all good man. We're all hoping at this point. One thing is for sure, the season needs to hurry up and start.

It's all true, I just heard all of Bird's press conference on 1070 the fan. I'de book it that Williams & Tinsley will be packaged together. Hopefully it is done by the start of next week. Bird did say "in the next few days." To mean that means a week at the most... hopefully.

On a side note, Bob Kravitz claimed that he talked to Larry Bird. If you don't know Kravitz is the main sportswriter for the Indy Star. A few months back he claimed he would walk to Kokomo if Tinsley was still on the roster by seasons start. Kravitz claims that after this press conference he asked Bird if he would still need to walk to Kokomo. Kravitz claims Bird said emphatically "You will not have to walk to Kokomo." Take that for what it is.

Awesome news for the organization and for the community as we are bringing back one of the "old" favorites and ridding ourselves of Humpty Dumpty.

I can see the Pacers cutting Mcroberts before the regular season to make room for Croshere. Croshere has always been Bird's guy ever since we drafted him in '97 but was eventually lost in Carlisle's black hole of a system.

I dunno, but Kokomo sucks. I dislike their traffic light situation immensely.

We have 16 players plus Croshere. We'd have to do a 3 for 1 or 4 for 2 or 11 for 9 deal...we'd have to ship out 2 more players than we take in. More likely is a 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 and if Austin earns a spot we could cut a player.

I hope we dont trade wiliams I think can be a stud

You would think , the way some poeple act, by trading Tinsley we all of a sudden move to the op half of the EC.

All were doing is getting rid of one player to take someone else's underachiving player

I for one don't have any delusions about the Pacers being a top-tier team any time soon, and I haven't really seen anyone else with that sort of opinion. I think it's more so a case of without Tinsley on our roster, we no longer have the chemistry issues and can worry about BASKETBALL. Once Pacers fans can get back to the point where all we have to worry about is wins and losses, I think that alone will bring back a lot of fans.

I would absolutely love to have Austin back in town.

Anyone else thinking Croshere was brought back to replace Williams in a potential trade?
