So far, so good

It was weird being at media day and not seeing Jermaine O'Neal and Donnie Walsh. It was even different not seeing Jamaal Tinsley. By the way, I didn't hear one player mention Tinsley's name Monday.

It's way early in the process, but you get a sense team continuity will be better. This should be a close group of players as long as egos don't clash in the lockerroom.

"For the most part, everybody wants to be here, which is a great start," Dunleavy said. "Everybody seems to get along a little bit better. I think everybody is kind of on the same level. The seven years I've been in the league, this is probably as closest to a college feel that I've had, and we haven't even started yet. Hopefully we can grow with that, develop some good chemistry and have a good year off it."

The Pacers will need that continuity because they'll probably go through several rough stretches this season. They'll be put to the test early because six of their first eight games are against teams that are expected to make the playoffs.
