It's a very minor injury. If it were the regular season he would be playing right now. So expect him back for our first regular season game, if not sooner.

he'll be back before the preseason ends. Him and Murphy need to play atleast one preseason game with the new starting line up that we have. Its going to be hard for them to come in and just start playing with a new start 5 (as they did when they trade went through back with GS).

Considering how minor Dunleavy and Murphy's injuries are, they should be back real soon. Right now its just precaustionary measures. They dont want to talk that changce that a small injuries turns into something bigger for no reason

I was reading on ESPN that this injury is more serious than thought? Is that accurate, or is he expected to be ready to go from day 1?

Just read on Indy Star today that he'll be sitting until the season opener @ Detroit.

Today's Star says he's out at least another week, Bird says hes not sure when he'll be back now......not good news.

I'm sorry, did Bird really just call Dunleavy our best all around player? This is one thing I don't like about Bird, he sees a tall, athletic white guy, and falls in love. How can Dunleavy be our best all around player when he gets destroyed on defense constantly? Not only that, but Granger outscored him and played defense. That is a very weird comment to hear. At least in my opinion.

The way Marquis has played in the preseason. I'm very comfortable with him starting at the 2 for us right now.

So, is it serious or not? Serious blow if the Pacers will miss him as the teams need a good start to begin the season...

Last night on the post game show the way it was described by Kevin Lee was, "We're not expecting him back anytime soon. It's not like a sprain or other injury that will take X amount of time to heal. It's basically a sore knee, and, at some point in time, it will stop hurting, then he'll be back a few days after that."

I'm not expecting him back until Thanksgiving at the soonest, but it's pretty scary. It basically took Marquis Daniels the better part of two years to finally feel as healthy as he does now.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I was wondering. with the resurrection of Daniels, and the potential of Rush. Is there a possibility that Dunleavy will lose his starting spot. I know this sounds crazy, but when you look at the big picture maybe it's a good thing. I mean Daniels is faster on the fast break with Ford. He also plays defensive lights years better than Dunleavy. That coupled with the fact that he is learning to hit the 3 better. Not too mention the fact that by the time he gets back, that new starting core would have gelled a bit. I noticed last night the only thing wrong with our rotation is that Danny got very tired. This means a player such as a Giniobli or in our case Dunleavy. Would need to come off the bench to help out at his natural position rather than start at sg. With Obie playing not only Daniels and Rush at sg effectively, but Jack playing the sg position well with ford on the floor. I don't see how or why we don't move Dunleavy to sf.

I dont know if I would be happy with just Daniels/Granger/Rush and Jack at the sg/sf spots, I dont think there is enough depth there. Rush is a rookie and Daniels is inconsistent as hell, I dont see Dunleavy loosing his spot unless Daniels takes off.

I think we should trade Dunleavy - I have for a while. I think we should trade him for a guy like Bargnani or a 1st round pick, something to help our future.

Marquis is better than Dunleavy. Nobody has given him a chance. Dunleavy is a backup in this league. He should come off the bench for Granger. That should be his role.

Mmm...a backup who averaged 19 points, 5 boards, 3.5 assists, and 1 steal per game last year.

Nope. Dunleavy > Daniels. Daniels does fine in backup minutes, he is an energy guy.

I in no way meant we trade Mike. Nore was I sating that I thought Daniels was a better all around player. What I was saying was that much like Ginobli comes off the bench instead of Finley. Though Manu is a better all around player. I think Dunleavy could come off the bench with Jack and Foster to help that unit flow, and bring some more offense. Daniels, Ford, and Granger had such great flow last night. I noticed that when Jack was on the floor it didn't seem so smooth for obvious reasons. I think Mike could improve that. I'm in no way in favor of trading him. He's going to be our next Foster. That glue guy that just does all the stuff you want him to consistently without praise.

Dude that was one year. Wow, Great, Kudos Dunleavy. He won't be doing that this year and you can quote me on that. Save this and tell me about when you actually want to get rid of him. He is not that good. The Pacers were not good at all last year and that is why he put up those numbers. This year is completely different. The Pacers have a completely different look and Marquis has never gotten a chance since he has been here. He has gotten a lot of minutes and is producing right now. Marquis is better defensively and is improving offensively. Might I add his athleticism dwarfs Dunleavys

So I guess that means Granger is not "that good" either then. I mean we were a bad team last year after all, right? Daniels was on this team last year too. You can say what you want. You entitled to that. Dunleavy is still a better all around player than Daniels. I do however think he should come off the bench as a great 6th man.
