Question about JO
hi im a Raptors/pacers fan
I remember when VC left the Raptors the fans started hating him and it had a bad impact on his all-star votes. i know that JO didn't ask for a trade or anything but i was just wondering if the majority of the people in Indiana still like this guy?

Re: Question about JO
I still like him a lot
Some days ago I was watching Raptors vs Heat, and I was cheering for him everytime he touched the ball...
JO had a real good time in Indy, and a lot of times he played hurt. So I just can't understand a Pacers fan hating the guy.

Re: Question about JO
I still like JO. In fact, I still would like to see him put up all-star numbers as long as it's not against the Pacers. However, he's not really playing as well as other guys in the East so it's really not fair to vote him in just because I like him. Also, I don't vote for the All-Star game because last time I tried it took forever and I know I'm going to be outvoted by the Chinese anyways. That's why I said no.

JO bled for this franchise, if you cheer against him because he was traded then your not a Pacer fan IMO.
If JO keeps up his recent play he will be at the Allstar game hes been averaging 18 and 12 the last two weeks. He can hang out wit TJ and Danny there :p

Re: Question about JO
Are feeling of Jermaine isn't nearly like Toronto's was for Carter.
We believe a majority of us still love him.

Re: Question about JO
He did great things as a Pacer, and he helped Reggie gets as close to the goal as possible before a not-so-lovable former Pacer brought the organization to its knees. I believe that Jermaine is a great player, but I do not think he is an all-star anymore, because his best years are behind him in terms of production. His floor impact is still visible, but nothing warranting an all-star nod in my opinion.
I am a Chinese, and I will say that, yes, I think that if Sun Yue of the Lakers actually gets televised playing time this season, he will be a starting forward for the NBA all-star game. All-star voting is just like real election voting. Nobody's vote actually matters that much. And the Chinese will take over.

I don't understand this. Can't a fan cheer for and against whomever they like? You don't have to cheer for every Pacer, as I'm sure Jamaal Tinsley has exhibited. I want them to succeed while they're playing for us, but I really don't care either way how JO, Brad Miller, Shawne Williams, Peja Stojakovic, etc. are doing anywhere else.
Disclaimer: I'm NOT cheering against JO. I'm just saying that it's impossible to throw out concrete statements of "You can't be a fan of the Pacers if...". I'm a Notre Dame fan. I deal with way too many concrete statements from my fellow fans. All it does is piss people off.

Re: Question about JO
Oh yeah, I'll vote JO for the All-Star game if his play warrants it. He won't get a guaranteed vote from me like Granger probably will.

Re: Question about JO
I like the way JO acted on our team when we knew at some point it'd be time to part ways, but it's doubtful I will vote for him. I am not against him like I am Stephen Jackson, but his time was up here. I guess I will have to look at the ballot more closely and see who deserves it, but I won't vote for him just because he was on the Pacers. If Reggie were to have changed teams I would have been very sad, but I would have voted for him if he averaged .8 points per game. It's kind of like in baseball when my favorite player, Jim Edmonds, went to the Cubs (I am a huge Cardinals fan). Many Cardinals fans rooted against him because he was a Cub, but I was just mutual with it. If he is no longer a Cub I will undoubtedly root for him though. OK, that wasn't a good point because they only rooted against him because he was a rival, but oh well.

Seconded...

Yeah, thirded. Some Notre Dame fans think that Irish sports are only for Catholics. I was born and baptised at Notre Dame, but somehow it wasn't good enough for some.

I'm just glad JO isn't on our team anymore.
Let him have monster numbers in Toronto, I don't care just that it proves he was labouring in Indiana the last few years!

Re: Question about JO
This could turn out to be one of those rare deals that works out for both teams. From what I have read in threads and boxscores, TJ and Rasho are playing quite well for the pacers this year. Both guys played a big part in getting the Raps back into the playoffs. It looks like they will be doing the same for your Indiana Pacers and good for them.
On the flip side JO has been great up here in TO. He protects the paint like we have never seen and truly opens things up for Bosh to play his game. I love the attitude, I love the swagger and I love his defense. If JO/TJ can maintain their health this could be a win win trade. It's rare but good for our respective teams and the league.

That would be the best case scenario.

I think JO is overrated, but I think that's clear for a lot of people you've seen play over 100 times.

Re: Question about JO
Looks like you guys jinxed him. Hopefully he's okay though and he doesn't miss any games.
I don't have anything against JO and I hope he does make the All-Star game. He gave his all when he was here and he's a nice guy off the court as well.

Re: Question about JO
Any big man would've been injured the way JO was pulled down last night
Initial indications in Toronto are that he won't be out for very long, though
But at least a couple of games
