STICKY!! Rivalries

Post#1 » by ws26 » Fri Dec 5, 2008 3:11 am

Hey, I'm gonna write an article on rivalries and I wanted some feedback.
I was hoping that you could give me a list of the team you would consider your rival, scale that rivalry 1-10, and your most hated player in the league (on any team).
Thanks.

It was the Knicks and every1 hated John Starks. I guess now it's the Pistons, but when we aren't very good it's not a great rivalry. Ever since the brawl most Pacers fans obviously can't stand the Pistons, and my least favorite player is Rasheed.

Pistons, Tayshaun Prince. For three reasons: 1) Every time someone gets blocked on a lay up we get to see that replay in the playoffs of Reggie getting blocked. 2) He went to Kentucky. 3) He looks like a pharaoh.

In all honesty, you could say the Pacer's themselves are our own worst rival, and with JT being the most hated player of course.

I am going to say the Detroit Pistons, all because of the brawl. My worst players I hate would include Tashaun Prince and Rasheed Wallace. I dont like Rasheed's mouth and attitude, and with Prince he complains about every call that goes against him. He cries like a baby. I think our rival now would be the Cleveland Cavaliers though, because we can't seem to beat them. We have lost how many in a row?

I'd say Detroit for sure. Even before the brawl, we had good games against each other and big time moments. Playoff games, Prince vs. Reggie, Corliss Williamson fight vs. Jermaine? I forget who he fought but remember Williamson was fouled and then threw the ball at a Indy player which sparked a little fight. All those games were must-see games. And of course, the brawl.

Rivalries in the NBA change too. Growing up and watching the Pacers in the 90s, I hated the New York Knicks and anyone associated with them with every fiber of my being. Now, I am apathetic towards them because they have been so irrelevant for the better part of the past decade. The Pistons are a more natural rival, being in the same division and all, and the brawl certainly escalated things, but really, I dont see us having a true rival right now. To me, you need to have playoff battles to have a real rivalry, and seeing as how we havent been in the playoffs the past few years, we really dont have any team to be rivals with. I'd say Detroit fans will probably say Cleveland is a much bigger rival currently than we are.

Exactly. There is no status quo with a majority of rivalries, especially in our case. WIth our new team and forward movement from the past, it's hard to even give us a rival at this point (am i wrong here?). Agreed that the most recent one has been Detroit though and Tayshaun.

What does looking like a pharoh have anything to do with him being a rival? That makes no sense. I am not disagreeing that he looks that way, he looks more like a cadavre to me. I just dont understand that.

My most hated player in the league is Ron Artest. I feel for the guy, but at the same time I wish he didn't exist.

It has absolutely nothing to do with him being a rival, and I never said it did. His insane ugliness sickens me, therefore I do not like him.

Cavs. Lebron, Varajao.. I've never seen a team cry more than them. They spend half the game falling down acting like they got hit my car. LeBron mature? Gimme a break.... Go ask Jay Z to make you another diss song.

So if i said that Dunleavy sickens me to look at him bc i think he is a crossbreed between a ghost and a Claymation elf person off the movie Rudolph, it is not okay. Even if he didnt go to Dook, i still think this and wouldnt like him. Dunleavys goofiness makes me not like him, the fact that he went to Dook just adds to that. How is that any different from u? I smell a hypocrite.
