Jordan Hill

Post#1 » by Crossova21 » Wed Dec 24, 2008 5:29 pm

I know it's still kind of early to be thinking about the draft. And I know I said the Pacers should get Jrue Holiday on my last thread. But the Pacers obviously need help at PF next year and I think we're pretty set at every other position for the future.

PG: T.J Ford
SG: Brandon Rush
SF: Danny Granger
PF: ?
C: Roy Hibbert

Although I'm not sure Hibbert will run as much as we would like, an athletic PF would make up for it. nbadraft.net says that Hill has freakish athleticism and always tries to finish around the rim with a dunk. That's one thing I've noticed about these Pacers. Outside of Rush and McRoberts no one looks to dunk on somebody. I especially thought Hibbert at 7' 2" would have no trouble dunking but it seems he relies on lay-ups too much. Hill is also being compared to Chris Bosh. Any chance he's still on the board when the Pacers pick?

Never too early to talk about the draft.

Jordan Hills is one guy i talked to my buddy about. He was never really a good college player. This season he's exploded. He was a late first round projection until recently. NBADraft.net had him compared to Ronny Turief until their update when they have him as Chris Bosh. But, there is many reasons why he is not Bosh. I've seen Hill play a few times recently as i'm a crazy nutcase for basketball and i watch a bunch of games of players i'd like to see them upclose... Hill is older, like 21. Bosh at his age, was already established and playing well in the NBA. However, he lacks a basketball IQ. He makes a bunch of errors each game. Positioning errors. Passing errors. Double dribbles. He gets like 3 turn overs a game or something crazy like that.

He's looking very promising. He's got the total package to be a good to great NBA power forward. He has to be very high on our radar.

Jordan played well last year as a sophomore averaging 13/8 per game. This season he has elevated his game to another level averaging 19/12/ 2.5 bl.

Although he is relatively new to organized basketball one has to like his progress enough to consider him in the first round. Especially if you're in need of a banger.

We'll see how things shape up this season, but as of right now he is a legit prospect.

I wouldn't mind adding his Zona' mate Chase in the second.

Tbh, i'd seen him on draft boards, but i haven't seen a lot of him. I'd like to see how he does for the rest of the season. If he is improving at a rapid rate, he could be a sleeper.

Problem is, Budinger is a top 15 draft pick.

^^^^Exactly, which is why I'd take him with my second. In no way would I take him with a top fifteen pick.

Meanwhile Jordan is creeping up on top-five status.

lol I wouldn't say that. I think NBADraft.net and DraftExpress.com are awesome web sites and i go there all the time but those rankings change all the time. I wouldn't call Hill a legit top 10 player even, but right on the outside and maybe shock by going before the top 10. The true test for many of these guys is when conference schedule comes out. Which i think is next week. He played real well against Gonzaga and Kansas, but other then that, they played all minor teams.

Speaking of draft watch, well atleast for Majority of this forum..... UConn (Thabeet) vs. Georgetown Monday 7pm on ESPN. True test for Thabeet against a good team, good interior team i might add.

I haven't seen him play, but his physique looks like a young Charles Oakley. How's his low post offense?
