Shut your mouth! The season is not even half way through and there is still hope. Once the pacers get healthy, which is expected to happen soon, you and everyone else will see a much better pacer team that will be playing to there full potential.

Dunleavy's not back, and we've still got lots of games to play. If we don't trade Tinsley and Dunleavy comes back too late, I would say the Pacers would be hard-pressed, but keep in mind our team is a completely different one than that of last year's so those fourth-quarter tight games are going to continue to be a problem, until everyone's really gelled.

It's great to see that it's not just the fans that have hope, but the players, too. That's why we have a legitimate chance. Don't come in here just to be a jerk about a wiretap headline. The article said "new year's resolution".

TJ Ford actually said its his new years resolution, not that he thinks its going to happen.

Personally I think his resolution should be to stay healthy for half a season.

As long as Ford is playing nba ball, he's the best player in the nba, period. It's literally impossible for anyone to take his throne regardless of fact, stats, numbers and any other hard evidence that might contradict that opinion. And don't even get me started on subjective analysis of players' games...even if stats like PER, def/off win shares, def. rating, FG%, TS%, ppg, rpg, apg, spg, wins, losses, etc. support eyes and ears of level-headed basketball fans. All that doesn't matter when Ford steps on the floor.

With that being said, there is no doubt in my mind that the Pacers will make the playoffs.

Trust me, as a Raptor fan when we got T.J. I thought the same as well. It seems like he is "unguardable" in the NBA, but thats not true. Fact is T.J. can't even control his own game. It's just reckless, turnover prone, inefficient basketball. Sometimes when he is on point, he is like you said the best player in the nba, but that rarely happens

lol I didn't really mean it when I said he's the best player in the NBA, but I have to disagree on your analysis of TJ's game. I think that you are basing it solely on last year after his return from his horrid injury from Horford completely disregarding the first part of the season before he got injured, his first season in Toronto, and this season, and that is unfair. He has his moments where he may try a bit to hard to take over games which may sometimes lead to turnovers, but that is when he senses his team is in danger of completely blowing the game, if they already havent. For the most part, TJ has been consistent this year and is not "turnover prone". Just so u know, Jose Calderon averages more turnovers than TJ this year. This year TJ has done a pretty good job at staying under control and limiting his turnovers. I believe his assist numbers should also be higher but a lot of the times his teammates miss wide open shots.

It's irrelevant whether we do or not. We have our expectations (to build a solid foundation) and we are well on out way to doing that. Most importantly we are always within distance of getting W's. Losing a bunch of games in a row by minimum points is the sign of a solid team on the verge of coming good. I'm happy enough with what i've seen so far this season.

The Pacers have a good rotation right now, especially with Jack as a starter. If Dunleavy can get back by the All-Star break, we'd have potentially a 2nd unit of Ford, Rush, Dunleavy, Foster, and Nesterovic. That's a helluva lineup. We'd be able to literally go 10-deep in our subs, and maybe stop running out of steam down the stretch of games that we clearly should not only win, but run away with.

I like our chances, and while it would kill our lottery, I'd much rather win and continue to make trades rather than lose and get any of the picks 7-14. We've seen that the right trades can get you a title (See 04 Pistons and 08 Celts). I trust Larry to make those right moves.

Ford, not a bust. But he's just not the finisher that Iverson, Parker, or Paul are around the rim. What good is speed if you can really use it?

dont listen to this guy...i'm from the raptors board and i'm telling you guys that he's just a euro loving calderon jock holder (he's trying to still hate on Ford even after he left).....most fans on our fanbase who actually watch the game and have good basketball minds will tell u that, TJ even though he has a tendency to do stupid things once in a while....his impact on the game is soo much more than calderon and he is a winner, no matter where he goes he will win, so with him at the helm on ur team, i am confident that you guys will turn things around....cheers

Interesting. I am a fan of TJ Ford and i love his game. But in the limited time i've seen Jose Calderon play, i think i'd put him ahead of Ford. Interesting to see a Toronto fan who the opposite. Like i said, i havn't watched Toronto enough to make a intelligent opinion.

Really? I think TJ has been playing at an equal if not better level than Jose.

trust me Jose might be putting up good stats, but his impact on the game is absolutely terrible, all he ever does is bring up the ball and find bosh/Jermaine, he does not take much shots because he doesn't want his fg percentage to go down, he doesnt make risky passes that good pg should make, his courtvision is mediocre at best, where as TJ has amaizing court vision. When we need someone to score or cut into the lane, he is the last guy that will step up, if you dont believe me, just look at this post from earlier today as example:

they have different playing style, pacers are not really a good shooting team like toronto,tj get well soon, he can be an elite star.
