PREVIEW

The Utah Jazz finally might be learning to win consistently without Carlos Boozer.

With lingering injuries expected to sideline the All-Star forward even longer, the Jazz look to close out a perfect homestand with a fourth straight victory Monday night against Danny Granger and the Indiana Pacers.

The same day Utah (22-15) beat Detroit 99-82 on Saturday, the Jazz learned Boozer will be out at least four more weeks while recovering from knee surgery a day earlier.

The Jazz are 14-11 without Boozer, who was averaging 20.5 points and 11.7 rebounds before injuring his lower quad and knee.

Until this homestand, Utah failed to win more than two straight games without Boozer, but appears to have turned things around. Winning at home has not been a problem for the Jazz, who have won five in a row at EnergySolutions Arena, where they are 15-4.

“I like the way our team has been trying to play here lately - trying to pass the ball, trying to execute our offense,” Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said.

Utah has won three of four overall and two in a row at home over Indiana (13-24), which lost 120-117 at Golden State on Sunday despite 42 points from Granger.

You have Paul Millsap listed twice on scoring, haha. With different averages at that.

Final Score:

Utah Jazz 144
Indiana Pacers 131

I don't think we know what defense is.

If we can't win with Jessica Alba in the Tradition section, we may just be screwed, in the bad way.

^^ Really? I was impressed you guys brought it like that after a back-to-back. Especially down 20 to cut it to 4 with like 2 mins left?

Granger is a beast and honestly does he have any limitations offensively? Cause I have yet to see one.

Problem is we give pretty much the exact same performance every game. We play just well enough to make it close at the end, but we don't have the skill or the balls defensively to actually play an entire game of basketball. Gotta love O'Brien's sheer genius coaching decisions too. Roy Hibbert comes out and scores a quick 7 points in the first few minutes of the game, and then he makes a bad pass and POOF he's on the bench the rest of the game.

When he took Hibbert out he had 3 fouls in 5 1/2 minutes, I believe, but I don't think he played after that. We might as well just play him if he is playing well and let him foul out in the second quarter, though. Seriously, better than letting him get 3 fouls and sitting him the rest of the game.

He had to bench Doctor Julius Hibbert because with him in the lineup, Okur scored like 64 points in that first quarter.

He actually only had 5 points (1 FG, 3-4 from the line) in the 5:45 Hibbert was in the game.

1 minute after Rasho took over for Hibbert Okur had 10 points, and 13 points after only a minute and a half. He finished the quarter with 18 total.

Was that Granger's best game ever?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
