What about trying to trade for David Lee?

He could be a very helpful player for us, starting at Center. He averages 15.7 points and 11.6 rebounds. I think he is in his last year of his contract and isn't too bad at defense (or am I wrong and he is awful?) If he is awful, he'd fit it. We could give NY Rasho's expiring and... I don't know, maybe they'd be interested in Tinsley or Marquis' expiring deal. NY would have to add a player or 2 in to make it work under the rules. I think Lee>Rasho, and now that Dunleavy is back we can deal Marquis if needed. If they want Tinsley, they've got 'em! The only issue is if we want to resign him he may be looking for a lot more than we want to give him. I don't know, I just thought I'd share my thoughts and see what everyone else thinks?

Just curious, if you hate this idea and think I am a no-talent-*ss-clown (name the movie for a Schrute Buck), who do you think we should go after or could reasonly see us getting?

If you don't know what I just said just say who you want to trade for.

I like David Lee as a player but he's gonna have to be resigned after the season and someone is gonna offer this guy $8 million a yr or more. So could we keep him? If we could move JT and get him I'd do it even if he walks but hat won't work we'd have to take someone like Jeffries who I'd take him for JT as well, i can't imagine Donnie Walsh taking JT. Maybe Daniels or Rasho if we take Curry they might kick in Lee to move him. I wouldn't do Curry and Lee for Rasho and filler because we'd endup with Curry and nothing. Curry stinks.

Lee is a good player, but I'm not sure he's what we need at the PF with this current group of bigs. He seems like a blue collar hustle/energy guy, whereas we could use more of a low post, athletic big.

To start, isn't he like 6'8 or 6'9, he would be very small for a Center. Also, he is going to want a ton of money, it was reported he wanted something in the 10 million range...thats way to much. I like him as a bench player, but unless we signed him to a relatively cheap extension and dumped a player with him, then I'll pass.

We have Troy Murphy, which I know many of you despise, and his contract is more unfathomable than Lee's demands, but I feel like Lee is going down similar path.

We REALLY need an athletic big. Someone who can drive and dunk. Someone who can put there back to the basket. Not a lot of available PFs out there like that. KMart I think was our last chance, but I think Denver is staying pat. who does that leave that could be had with what we have to offer?

A driving PF who also plays the post well is tough to find. I'm not sure who you have in mind that's not an All-Star.

I don't hence the reason I said there's not a lot of PF out there like that. let alone one we could obtain.

I actually really, really like that idea. New York basically wants expiring contracts, and we have the expirings to get it done. The only real downside is, like mentioned above, he is going to want big money this offseason. With Granger's extension kicking in, I'm not sure we have the money to resign him, but I think he is exactly the kind of guy we need.

I'd rather have Lee walk than add any player from your team besides Granger.

He is doing real well against us tonight. I could see Murphy and Lee playing Center and PF, so my only question is still the amount of money he would want in the off-season.

LOL unless you plan on giving up Granger there is no way in hell you get Lee. And even if you offered Granger, which I know the Pacers wouldn't, there is a good chance the Knicks turn it down.

We would most likely have to trade an expiring deal for one of their crappy ones to get Lee, and I don't think that is worth it unless we are sure we will have him at a decent price for a few years to come...

We all know the Knicks are trying to have all the cap space in the world in 2010 and got rid of a lot of their bad contracts, but they still have a couple they wouldn't mind getting rid of. Plus I don' see them wanting to resign Lee when they could have Bosh coming the next year. I guess they could pair them up, but that gives them less money to spend in 2010, and I don't know about that.

Here is Lee in the 2001 High School Dunk Contest that I posted in the game thread. I guess it belongs more in here:

Pay attention to the first guy dunking...

Anyways, I just remember watching that dunk contest. I think it was one of the best of all-time, especially for high-school.

LOL, if Lee walks the Knicks have room for two max contracts in 2010, if Lee stays it would only be one max contract. Nothing the Pacers have except for Granger is worth having on the Knicks roster.

We have expirings. I realize Lee is expiring, but you could possibly add in a bad contract for a larger expiring like Rasho, giving you even more money in 2010. Thinking this over as a Pacers fan I am not sure I do it, just because we don't know what offers Lee will get this offseason. But if the Pacers wanted Lee they could get him without giving up any of the rookies, Granger, etc. All they have to do is take on a bad contract of the Knicks.

So the Knicks' roster is glorified enough to have the likes of Jerome James inhabiting its roster, but wouldn't be happy to add a young and talented big like a Roy Hibbert? Or a young swingman with some upside in Brandon Rush?

This is the same team that has Chris Duhon and Quentin Richardson in their starting 5, correct?

You'd have to take Eddy Curry back if you really want Lee.
