I found this on the ESPN rumors page. I can't track down which teams asked for assistance.

The NBA is set to borrow $175 million Feb. 26, marking one of the first league financings since the implosion of the credit markets last fall.

The money, which will be available to 15 teams, supplements an existing $1.7 billion leaguewide credit facility that uses the NBA’s media contracts as collateral to secure loans for the clubs. The NBA surveyed its teams, and 15 responded they would like to tap into the new borrowing.

This list may be a pretty good indicator of who will be buying versus selling at the trade deadline. But, like I said, I can't find the list of teams anywhere.

And you likely won't, or rather, shouldn't.

I'd have to assume that the individual teams would have insisted on anonymity around the league in exchange for the financing, because, as you said in your post, this knowledge could hamstring them in future discussions with other teams, agents, and even sponsorship deals.

No good comes in knowing who asked for the money.

I dont think it would be too hard to guess the 15 teams. I'd have to assume they would probably be mostly the smaller market teams.
