Pacers' Foster Happy To See Deadline Pass
Feb 21, 2009 9:08 AM EST

Pacers center Jeff Foster, who admitted that he gets nervous around this time of year, was happy to see the trade deadline pass on Thursday.

"You can ask anybody, I tend to get nervous this time of year," Foster said. "That's how I am. Obviously I wish our record was better and we didn't have the injuries that we do. I love Indiana. I love the Pacers. I'm happy to be here for hopefully beyond this year. I wouldn't have signed the extension before the season if I didn't want to finish my career here."

Man now I feel bad about talking trade with him. This is just the dedication and heart that most NBA players are missing these days. How many players in this day in age stay with the same team their entire career. Through thick and thin. He knows he's not getting any younger and this team is a ways off from being a playoff contender let alone a Championship team. And yet he wants to finish up here. His class makes JO look like a whining brat.

I love Jeff Foster. Strictly hetero.

He embodies so many of the good qualities in basketball, and his mark is made not because he's a decent player, but because he's a great person.

Definitely understandable. I'm sure teams brought up his name a lot, and while the Pacers love him, only a few players are truly untradeable in this league.
