We're better than you think

Last year, I felt like there were some obvious holes in our team. This offseason many of those were addressed by trades and also by Granger's development. We could still use an athletic interior defender, but we have a lot of solid pieces. However, our record has been dismal, and we can't put wins together even as our schedule has lightened up. We've also been decimated by injuries.
Despite all this we are 15-14 since the start of the new year. That includes an 8-9 stretch when Dunleavy was playing, but a 7-5 record even as we've been short handed. We still have an easy remaining schedule and we're 3 games out of the 8th spot right now with a bunch of other teams that haven't really established themselves either. The bottom of the East is wide open. Even Detroit is only 8-18 over that same stretch.
Our playoff hopes are kept afloat by the incompetence of our peers.
